I am searching for a camp ground that has alot of activities for all age groups from 3yrs to 13yrs. It can be in CT, MA,or NY. Alot of them sound good but I would like to make sure it is kid friendly. Hope you can help?

First camping trip with new camper? I wouldn't go too far. Hammonasset is a beautiful campground, though it does not have hookups. There are bathhouses for each group of campsites (there are over 400 sites). Each bathhouse features hot showers as well as 2 sinks with hot water for dish washing -- and the toilets and sinks, of course. We use our fridge and stove, but never even bother with the water and bathroom in the trailer. This works quite well for us. We stay for 2 weeks in early summer and 3 in late summer with 4 kids. We use 2 tents in addition to the trailer to give everyone space for this amount of time. With my own family, I have gone every summer since my oldest (now in college) was an infant -- though not for quite as long. This campground is a family tradition for a lot of people. Many are second and third generation. I am third myself. Families stayed all summer until longterm was phased out in state parks in the 70's. What to do here.... The campground itself has a two mile beach, a nature center with many child and family activities, beach trail and great kids biking throughout the campground, crafts and bingo weekly run by the campground hosts, free movies a couple times a week in an outdoor ampitheater, and is close to many day trips. Things like Essex Steam Train, Tolley Museum, Mystic, Gillette Castle, etc. Plus an added bonus -- Lenny & Joes Restaurant is just outside the park on Route 1. The nonprofit Friends of Hammonasset is at Hammonasset.org and campsites are reserved at Reserveamerica.com. The latter website is also a great place to research other campgrounds. Good luck!
Though I haven't camped in 2 decades my friends do. They love Yogi Bear campground (I believe it's in MA). They went year after year with their family at about the same age as yours. They said there was lots to do and the kids loved it! I camped in Cape Cod and always stayed in Welfleet at a campground called Maurice & Ann's...lots to do in the area (I didn't go with kids and it was a long time ago) Good Luck and have fun!!!
Your best bet is to go on-line to all the states that you want to camp in and request from the state there camping guide for 2008. We did family camping years ago and it was a true blast and take lots of pic's to scrapbook also.
I remember that we camped in the amsbury, mass area near hamptonbeach....the campgrounds up there has tons of stuff for families to do. Also near sturbrigde, mass if its still there is the Yogi Bear campgrounds/or any camp with a cartoon as a name would have lots of kid activities, again go on-line and pull up the info and have the camp you pick send you a itinerary for the month you think you might be visiting
