So my 3 year old son is currently staying with my grandma. I am looking for something affordable with more structure. Open to any suggestions you may have. He's never been in public daycare, but I think it's time.

What can I do next?

There is no greater care for a child than to be with a SAHM. But if grandmother is next in line, go for it. Public school comes soon enough at age 5-6.

I need one more toddler for my home day care. I will have an opening May 9th when one of my children turns 5. I then have two other three yr olds and two younger with one 5 yr old. I charge by the week. The children right now have gone through the alphabet and went thought writing upper and lower case and now we are working on writing our names and reading words, I will have to start over when my 20 mo and 2 yr old start to be able to control their fine motor movements but right now the 2 yr old can say the ABC's. Call me I am in the North Ft worth off 820/35 w look at oddhoursdaycare.com I only have one opening so will be full soon.G. W

I don't know where you live in Arlington, but I sent my DS to Trinity Presbyterian Preschool in Mansfield and it's been wonderful. He goes twice a week and has a great time. Their rates are reasonable compared to daycare centers and you can send your child 2,3, or 5 days a week. Before I started staying home, I sent my son to KinderCare in North Arlington and it was also wonderful. They took great care of my son and follow a curriculum during the school year so that will give you the structure you're looking for. I know other Mom's have also used Children's Courtyard and they also follow a structured curriculum. I would find a few schools in your area and make an appointment with the director to ask questions and take a tour. They should give you their rates and handbook while you're there.

My son loves ( and I do too) Merryhill Preschool in Keller. It's off of Rufe Snow. PSE in Southlake is also great. My niece went there. I have zero complaints about Merryhill. It's not cheap but it was cheaper than Primrose, Children's Courtyard and Premier.
