Hi Moms,
I have asked you all questions in the past and your responses have been so helpful so I figured I'd try again. I am expecting my 2nd baby in February when my first will be 22 months old. I was wondering if any of you could recommend a good double stroller that would fit a Gracco car seat and a toddler. I'm thinking I want a side by side but I'm not sure how easy that is going to be to find. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

What can I do next?

Although expensive, I recommend the Valco Twin Stroller. I have a 17 week old and a 3 year old and they fit perfectly in it. I also have a Graco car seat and the seat adaptor holds my car seat just fine. The stroller is great and is all terrain. I also love it because it holds up to something like 120lbs total and since my kids are almost 3 years apart we will be using it for a while. Also if you had more kids, lol, you could add pieces to it to accommodate.

I know of the great one that is "the best kept secret in the stroller world" It's called "ABC buggy"(look on utube for videos). There are soooooooo many options and you can just add on to it if you have 3rd and 4th kid:)

Hi,
My son is now 21 months and my daughter is 4 1/2 months. I have the Baby Trend Sit "n" Stand LX. The infant goes in the front which is a MUST. If the toddler goes in the front it is impossible to steer! Don't get a Graco Dou Glider or whatever. This sit in stand is great because he can stand which he loves to do and it's so cute, he can sit on the bench, or there is a removable regular seat that is pretty easy to take with you and put on if he gets tired. It takes the graco seat even though it doesn't advertise that it does. It's $150 at Target. I couldn't find any side by side that took a Graco seat at a price that normal people could afford.

I like the valco tri-mode. They also have a side by side if you want. I like the options that are included with it, and that the accessories are MUCH cheaper than other strollers are. The car seat adapter is inexpensive as is the sunshade. Very happy with my purchase.

Side by Side take up so much room. It's hard to get around at the mall and anywhere else. I had a Graco carriage - front and back - you can put either kid in either place....I loved it.....

Hi E.. I am also expecting a second child in April when my son will be 21 months old, so my husband and I have been looking into double strollers. My husband actually does research for a living so he has taken the helm on this one and we've decided to buy the Tike Trek Trax###-###-#### double stroller. He's found a lot of reviews for it and it gets great user ratings. Also, it seems to be one of the lightest doubles we've seen and it costs a lot less than the comparable models (the BOB Revolution Dualie is the most similar model, and it costs at least $150 more). Additionally, it has a carseat adapter accessory that will allow your Graco carseat to be used with it. Hope this info is helpful - good luck.

Hi E., congrats on your second little one. I am due w/ my 2nd in about 3 weeks. I got a Bumbleride Indy twin. It is a side by side and also a jogging stroller. It holds most infant car seats and even comes w/ an adapter. It has tons of storage. I have a Bugaboo cameleon for my first and everything was extra as far as adapters, cupholders and such. It is a little pricy, but since it can also be used as a jogger I figured it saves $$$ from buying a separate stroller and it also still cost a lot less than the bugaboo. I actually bought it off of Ebay and saved $150.00. It was brand new in the box as well and the factory warranty still applies. It seems to be easy enough to handle and it is not as heavy as I thought it might be. Just my opinion. Good luck!

You've gotten a lot of good suggestions, but here is my two cents: I like side by side as well. I don't like the idea that one child is stuck in back. And most doubles are now 29 inches wide which fits through a standard doorway.
So, I'd recommend either the MaClaren Techno XLR double - works with the Graco snugride if you want a non-jogger. It's so comfy with extra padding/all removable washable. It's light (relatively for a double) and folds in a snap. Both seats recline individually for when the baby is out of the car seat.

Or if you want a jogger - I just bought the Mountain Buggy Urban Double and I am in your same situation. The car seat attachement works as easily as the Graco snap N go. It also has an optional bassinet carrier called a carry cot if you want to use that on one side as well. It can be removed and used like a Moses basket. It turns on a dime and folds and unfolds in one motion. I love it. It's about $900 though which may be a consideration. my second baby isn't even born yet and my 20 month old son only wants to ride in this double because he likes it so much!

Hi E.,

First of all, congrats on your pregnancy! I have two boys who are just barely two years apart. I was in your boat not that long ago - had the Graco car seat and needed a double stroller that would accommodate it. I went with the new Graco Quattro Tour.

I love that it is front/back with "stadium" seating so that the child in the back can see a little better. I tossed around the idea of a side by side, but felt that it wouldn't be very easy to maneuver in the mall - the store aisles aren't usually very wide at all. I have been very happy with the Quattro Tour. It's very stylish, has a great amount of storage under the seats, and has plenty of holders. It has the one-hand fold, but it is a bit heavy.

I'm not sure what type of vehicle you drive, but because the stroller is front to back, it's a bit longer than a single when folded. It fits fine in the back of my Honda Odyssey, but I don't think it would've fit in the back of the SUV I had before #2 arrived. I'd recommend that you measure your trunk/storage space before you make your decision.

I bought mine without seeing it in person b/c that model had just come out & the baby stores near me didn't carry it yet. I priced it out online and got a great deal on Amazon.com, with free shipping.

Good luck with your search!

This is a bit expensive but so worth it and it's so small compared to all the other styles! It has a detachable second seat, so you only use it when you need it. You can buy a converter to hold the infant car seat too.

Congratulations! I had my daughter when my ds was 21 months. We have the Bob double stroller. IT has an adapter bar that fits the car seat, and then it turns into a cup holder when the baby is older. It's a bit pricey but feels like pushing nothing at all. www.bobgear.com

I recommend the Quattro Tour Duo Stroller by Graco, so yes, it will hold an infant carseat (in the rear seat) and a toddler up front. It is roughly in the same ball park price wise as other double strollers. A few things I LOVE about this stroller is it steers really well, it has great ergonomic handles and the undercarrage cargo area is huge. It also advertised and I can say does- have a 20% smaller fold than other strollers like it, it also folds in one turn of the wrist!
If you have a Burlington Coat Factory near you they carry the sttroller, you can go see it, and test drive it there.
Don't forget to take into consideration your trunck space! I had a VW Jetta and had to take the wheels off of my double stroller to make it fit!

Hi and congratulations,

I love my valco tri-mode runabout twin! It is a side by side, but is only a couple of inches wider than a regular stroller. I think it is 28 inches wide and fits through doors no problem. I have a 26 month old son and a 6 1/2 month old daughter and they both ride it in comfortably. I bought the carseat adapter so I am able to keep my daughter in her infant seat, which is a Graco. My only complaint is that it is a little heavy getting it in and out of the car and it does take up a good amount of room in the back of my suv. It is a jogger, and is so sturdy and smooth over any type of terrain while walking, too.

Good Luck!

Graco makes a double stroller, but it's front and back. I have one and love it. It was so easy when I had the infant seat. Now, the two of them love it, they take turns riding in the front!

It's not the lightest thing in the world, but it's not bad. I can lift it into my minivan. It folds fairly flat, if you take off the first canopy. Easy to stear, clean...

Graco Duo glider it's a front and back one and we love it. It's the only double stroller that we liked that would even fit in our trunk. My daughter who is 3 1/2 but the height of a 4 1/2 yr old still fits in it and loves either seat. My son is 20 months old and loves it too, he prefers the back seat so he can kick is big sister but we usually put him in the front.

First off, congratulations on your new addition. I have two children 25 months apart. When I was pregnant with my second, I was trying to figure out what to do about strollers. I considered the side by side strollers but since I had trouble in some of the stores getting between racks with my regular stroller, I decided on a front and back stroller. I got the Graco Quattro Tour Duo and love it. I've had it for over a year now. When my daughter was born, my Graco car seat fit great in the back and my son rode in the front. Now that my daughter is 1 1/2 she loves to sit in the front and my son, who's 3 1/2 loves to sit in the back. It is a bit heavy but the storage is great and it really does fold up small. I can fit it in the trunk of my Honda Civic if I put it in upside down (wheels up). We've taken it everywhere.

If you want side by side the BOB double stroller is awesome! It is so easy to push around. The car seat can go in if you get the attachment (which can be used as a snack tray when the car seat is not needed anymore (around 6 months).

I've been doing alot of research as well. I have to try my toddler in the strollers since she is very tall and her feet usually hang below the footrests of most double strollers. We are not joggers, just shoppers, so we didn't look at the side by side or sport joggers. Yesterday I tried my daughter in the graco quattro duo tour stroller. We loved it! My dd sat in the front very comfortably with her feet resting on the footrest. It folds easily nice and flat and opens with one hand. I liked how it handled and looked. We ordered it online at babyage.com since in the store it was over $100 more.

I recommend going to burlington coat factory, babiesrus, and destination baby to try them out with your older one.

I have the peg perego 60/40 and i use it with my graco car seat.....its not the best as far as ease of use and storage but its light and i love side by side! it fits in all doorways. IMHO, spend the extra money on one of the more expesive side by sides.

I have done EXTENSIVE homework on this.

Right now, for reasonably priced strollers, the only side-by-sides that take infant carriers are the Combi, the Peg Perego Aria 60/40, the Baby Jogger City Mini Double and the Zooper Tango. You can also add the Valco Lattitude 2 to that list as well as some double joggers, but a lot of them are heavy and unwieldy for everyday use.

IMO, the Peg is awful. I have the regular Aria Twin, and I hate it. It's hard to push, opens when it feels like it and not when you want it to, and is really disappointing.

The Combi has gotten good reviews, but I'm not in love with the padding - my kids are frequently annoyed by the padding in my single Combi and the double is constructed the same way. Plus, when I've test-drove the Combi with the kids in it, it felt a little flimsy.

The Zooper Tango is a wonderful stroller. It's everything the Aria Twin should be. Great storage, nice baskets, comfortable for the kids, great shocks. Same fold as the Aria so it doesn't take up any more space. IMO, the Zooper is just the better stroller.

The Baby Jogger is my favorite of this bunch. It's light, it folds easily and compactly, the kids are so comfortable, and it has a great look. I'm not in love with the only dark colors available - I worry that this might get hot and stuffy in the hotter months, but who knows? It's got a lot of benefits - great steering, good suspension, good storage. It's a little pricey, which has prevented me from purchasing it, but I would if I could.

The Valco is unproven - it's really new to the market, but Valco is a proven brand. It's the heaviest of this gropuing, which matters to some people. Test drive it, if you can.

Hope this helped. I will sing my usual song - Do not waste your money on a tandem!!! What a waste. If someone gives you one for free, like a hand-me-down or something, take it, but if you get one as a gift, return it and get something else.

Good luck!

I have a combi sport side by side. It fits most infant car seats. I have 22 month old twins and we LOVE this stroller. We started with a graco duoglider and it was great while the girls were infants and both seats could snap in and out easily, but once they were toddlers, it wasn't cutting it. we absolutely LOVE the combi..

I bought the Peg Perego double 4 yrs ago. It is a side by side. don't know if a graco car seat would fit but you can find out. I have back problems and this stroller is only 11 pounds. It is slim enough to fit through any doorway and folds easily. It seems flimsy, but it has lasted almost 4 yrs.
Consider how much walking you'll do... i know my city friends all go for the more expensive jogging type doubles since they walk everywhere...
