My husband and I are trying to save some $$ and are looking into to switching our insurance plan to the HMO option that is offered at his work. Unfortunately, they require a PCP and we have no clue who to pick. And I don't want to make the mistake of randomly picking a Dr.... We are both really healthy and very rarely need to go to the drs, but you never know with your health. So does anyone have any good suggestions of family doctors anywhere between Carmichael and the Folsom area?

What can I do next?

I am very impressed with the Sutter doctors - my sons use Pediatric Medical Associates located at 425 University Avenue Sacramento (just off Howe and Fair Oaks) ###-###-####.
I also think the Mercy Healthcare System is great with good doctors and all too.
Good luck to you.

Hi Amy,
Try UC Davis Med Center on Madison Ave in Carmichael if they are included in your insurance. My daughter's pedi recently retired (dr Kuhn) but we have always had good experience's with the physicians there. Sounds like they would also be close by.
Good Luck, I have been in your shoes & it is so difficult to decide from some black & white catalog. Just a name & address no info on how they treat their patients etc....

A question ... does the HMO allow for you to fairly easily choose another Dr. if the first one you try doesn't work out? I would ask, because choosing a Dr. is a highly personal matter, in my opinion, and you may need to be with one for a year or more before finding out that you aren't truly comfortable with him/her, and need to find someone new.

I will check with a family member who seems happy with her Dr. in that area, and try to get back to you with a name later.

If you're looking for a good Primary for you and your husband, I can recommend the Agresti's (three siblings, I've seen both of the sisters)... Dr. Tina, Dr. Linda and Dr. Ernest (I think). They're located on Sierra College Blvd, just south of Douglas (Hazel turns into Sierra College). Their number is ###-###-####

If you're looking for a Pedicatrician, I take both my daughters to Dr. Bannister on Sunrise (north of Cirby). Their number is ###-###-####

Good Luck!
