Looking for a Kitchen to Rent!

So my soon to be six year old wants to have a cooking themed birthday party, but I do not want to spend $400+ that some of the places are charging. I have found one community kitchen in Rockwall/Rowlette (?) but we can't cook in the kitchen!! LOL I have found a kitchen in Mesquite (haven't found out if we can actually cook in it) but it costs $200-ish for four hours (which is the minimum). Just hoping someone knows of something relatively close to Mesquite which would cost less or if they have any GREAT ideas! My final resort will be to "cook" on the grill...but as we all know no one can count on the weather in Texas! My house simply isn't going to accommodate 15 kids - I am so excited that my dear friend invited me to this group and I look forward to any and all suggestions! Thanks so VERY much!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks so much! I had totally forgotten about Samuel Farms. I have been attempting to find someone who can help me secure the facility with the kitchen, but no one will return the phone call. I have a few "free" hours today and tomorrow as well (what a treat, eh?) so I plan on driving out there to see if I can find some different contact numbers than the ones posted online or the ones that the City of Dallas has! I have hosted two different events at Samuel Farms and LOVED it - but they both were outdoors!

I had thought of churches, but the two that I have some connection wouldn't be conducive to a kids cooking party, but I hadn't thought about investigating other community churches (gee...do I need to consider thinking outside of my tiny little box of thought processes or what!!??!! LOL).

So, thank you all so very much for your time and input. My daughter's party won't be until May (yes, yes, I am a planner!! LOL), but I will be happy to post how and where everything turned out!

Hugs to all!

Check out local recreation centers. Mesquite, Dallas, and Garland all have rooms available for reservations during regular hours that are less expensive. Most Dallas rec centers also have a kitchen. Good luck with the party!

I almost forgot about Samuell Farm in Mesquite. They have a fairly large building with a kitchen in it that can be rented out for a donation. We had a birthday party and family reunion there before and it worked out great!

Have you tried a church? Most of them have kitchens. Our church (First United Methodist in Forney) lets people use their facilities. Maybe if you called around and, if they don't charge a fee, promise to make sure you clean up and make a small donation to the church they would let you use their kitchen.

Good luck.

It might be kind of hard to find a kitchen to rent. I would maybe think of some other ideas like renting a place where you can plug in griddles like you use when you go camping. Also, you and you son before the party make things like to make nachos or quesadillas that the other kids can put together the way they want. They can also do hot fudge sundaes. Good Luck!

Possibly a Senior Apartment Community. They usually have kitchens.

do any of your friends live in apts. Sometimes they rent out their party room with full kitchens for a small fee.
any church willing to give up their kitchen for a donation?
There is some cooking academy in frisco i heard is very popular.
It's geared for children and they hold huge playdates, parties for these such occasions.
Would H.E.B. central market work with you? they sometimes have childrens events going on every so often.
