Hello I have heard of several projects for low income girls for prom and homecoming and would love to give my formals from college to a group who could use them but am having a heck of a time finding one in the KC area. Have you heard of any, if you have please let me know. Thanks ladies

I do not know of an agency, but you might try calling some of the high schools and talking to a counselor. They may know of a girl whose parents can't afford to buy her a dress for homecoming or prom. Maybe someone who recently lost a parent or whose house has burned down. Just a thought. Best of luck. Midwest Foster Care and Adoption Association (MFCAA--mfcaa.org), a not-for-profit organization supports families who care for KC area foster children as well as those who have adopted children. Often, they do not have the resources for a prom dress for the teenagers in their care. The organization provides support, advocacy, training and education to the families it serves In addition, they run a clothes closet and food pantry. It would be a great organization for you to give your formals. You can call (816)350-02115.

I am non sure directly who you could contact, But you may look into getting ahold of the Shelter for battered Women. I know that a lot of time these women leave with their children (some teenagers) with the clothes on their backs.
Your deed is a kind one. I hope this helps.
