Hi everyone. My husband, my son and I just moved to Bedford a couple weeks ago and are looking for a pediatrician in the area. We may be moving again in the next couple months to one of the surrounding towns (within 10 miles of here most likely). Also, I may be going back to work soon and we are also in need of daycare. If anyone has any advice on a pediatrician or daycare we would be very grateful to hear it! Thank you!

Hi L., I am a nursery nurse at Mt Auburn hospital. I highly recommend Dr Rajee Joyce in Arlington. She is great! She is a Mom of three, 40, very kind, very intelligent, experienced, affiliated with Boston hospitals for referals, good back up coverage.i sent my family to her. Nurses love her! If your into a group. Lexington pedi is also very good. J.

Hi L. -- if you're in Bedford MA, there's Patriot Pediatrics where we take our 2.5 year old son. Their website is http://www.massgeneral.org/patriotpeds/index.htm. They do informational sessions I think once a month to new parents/patients going over the practice and answering general questions, basically your chance to interview the doctor. We've been pleased with their care. As far as daycare, there are two Bright Horizons in Lexington that I know of but check with your local public library, they may have a list of daycare facilities in your area. Good luck.

We use Patriot Pediatrics on Loomis St. in Bedford. www.massgeneral.org/patriotpeds/index.htm is the link to their website. We've been using them since the birth of our first son in 2005.

We also use A Place to Grow for day care in Belmont but they also have a facility in Bedford www.aplacetogrowchildcare.com

Hi L. - I am a teacher in Bedford and live in nearby Arlington. Though I don't live in Bedford, I have friends who do, and through teaching there I know there is a strong organization called the Bedford Family Connection that you can join. The moms in the group are pretty tight and well-informed, and they can help you get acclimated to the area, pick a pediatrician, do playdates, etc. There are LOTS of great doctors in this area. I love mine but it would be a little far for you since it's closer to where I live.

A funny sidebar - I had my girls at Mt. Auburn Hospital and I remember Joanne (who just wrote you before my post)! She was one of my FAVORITE nurses! Trust her recommendation for sure. She is awesome!! :)
