I"ve taken my son (now 5) to a Moms Day Out Program at All Saints Lutheran (just south of Lewis Center on High Street) and have friends who take their children to their preschool program and love it......just another option!

Hi M.,

I live in Lewis Center as well and before I started working full time, I took my son to the Lewis Center Pre-school off of the Lewis Center United Methodist Church. They were great. They have 2, 3, 4, or 5 day a week pre-school. When I went back to work full time, I needed all day care, and I currently go to Hugs and Hearts near Chase at Polaris. They do have a great pre-k program that is structured during the school year. They pay the teachers well there so there doesn't seem to be much turn over. My son was pre-k this year and they worked on letters, sight words, math concepts, etc. It is truly pre-k from an educational standpoint. They are great on the fun and play aspects as well. They do art projects, have Spanish lessons, recess, and free play time too. It is very well rounded program. Good luck!

My name is J.. I am a three-year old teacher at Genoa Christian Academy. We offer an outstanding pre-k program which I am sure you would find to be a perfect match for your daughter. They can be reached at 740-965-kidd. Our director's name is Diana Aleshire. I am unsure of her summer hours, but if you leave a message, I am sure they will forward it to her. Hope this helps.

There is an agency in the Columbus area that can help you find the right fit for you since you'll be new to the area. I can't remember what it's called but they were at a pre-school fair I attended in January not far from Lewis Center. Maybe google "preschool placement Columbus"?

My daughters have attended Prince of Peace Luthern Church for pre-school and pre-k. My older daughter was very well prepared for kindergarten and I have been happy with their ideas. The director's name is Sue Miller and the phone number is 1.###-###-####. The school is located in Dublin which is probably about a 20 - 25 minute drive depending on where you leave in Lewis City.

Good luck,
M.

My son goes to Primrose School in Lewis Center, right on Rt. 23. It just opened this past January (I think). It's very clean, the staff is very professional and friendly and my son seems to really enjoy it.

Hi M.!
I was in the same boat you are in a almost 2 years ago. We relocated to the area north of Polaris Parkway. I totally fell in love with the area! I love it!! However, I was in culture shock when I found out the prices of just childcare in general (as well as the cost of preschool). When I found a job over here in Ohio, we put my youngest (she was 3 at the time) in La Petite on Polaris, near the Chase McCoy Center. They claim to have a pre-school atmosphere, but I did not find it structured enough. When I had the opportunity for my neighbor to keep her and also take her to the preschool program at Genoa Christian Academy, I jumped at it. She really loved the teachers and her classmates. They even learned a little Spanish - It's so cute to hear your little ones speaking some spanish. :) Very great school; however the big draw back for me was that they do not have an "Extended Care" or Daycare after the 3 hour class is finished. This posed a problem when my wonderful neighbor had som changes in her situation and could no longer watch my little one all day. So we placed her back at La Petite. While the staff is very wonderful there, it's just not what I would call a Preschool. I am acutually looking into other options for next year. I have heard from a friend that Hugs and Hearts is a good alternative with much more structure and they even teach Spanish. Very useful these days :)
I'm not sure where you are moving from or if you already know people in the area, but I live in a WONDERFUL neighborhood where the ladies are a great resource for me when I have questions. Feel free to contact me at my personal email if you would like to meet some great moms in the area. ____@____.com

Welcome to the area!
