I bought one of those fundraiser coupon books and wanted to have the brakes done on a Honda Pilot at Brakes Plus ,but there are some terrible, on-line reviews. Even the BBB has 17 complaints within the last reporting period. Please recommend an honest, reliable car mechanic and brake shop in central Phoenix/Camelback area. I'm willing to drive to Scottsdale/Tempe area.
Thanks in advance!

If you are willing to go to Mesa, we see a mechanic there. It's Performance Automotive in Mesa - on Country Club. The Phone number is ###-###-####. The address: 944 N Country Club Dr. Mesa, AZ 85201.
Anyways - the name of the man who runs this shop is Jake. He is very honest and good. We had a little trouble with the clutch on our Honda CR-V, and someone recommmended that we see jake. We are happy that we have. We make the drive all the way from North Scottsdale to Mesa for his service. I hope this helps.
I second Tammy's response of Marshall's at Indian School and Hayden. Have been going to them for 3 years - because I trust them! They're great. Have sent at least 3 friends their way. Good luck!
Cathederal Auto!!!! ###-###-####. I believe it is just off of Greenway and Hwy 51. I drive all the way from South Chandler because I TRUST these guys! They saved me well over $1000 two years ago when the Saturn dealership was convincing me I was on the verge of total car breakdown. Not only did Cathedral Auto show me that it was only a minor repair needed, but they rotated my tires for free. Nothing glam about their shop, but they can't be topped for their trustworthiness!I won't go anywhere else.
We've had good luck with the 48th/Chandler Brakes Plus, manybe just try a different Brakes Plus location.
I have a great mechanic shop. Close to your area. Reasonable prices and they do good work. Its Dean's Auto Repair. 2242 N. 32nd St. ###-###-####. Family owned and run. They've been in business for many years. So you know that if they weren't good they wouldn't have been in business for that many years.

They have several AAA top shop awards, are very honest and do great work. Very reasonable prices too.
It's a little farther than you mentioned but I've had good luck with the Brakes Plus at Country Club and Baseline in Mesa. They've done front and rear brakes along with some maintenance for us and we've had good experiences every time. It's right off the US-60 so maybe it would still be an option and you could still use your fundraiser coupon?

Another option in Tempe would be Ken's Auto Repair. He is a very honest, reputable mechanic. I'd recommend him all day long. :)
Pat's Precision Auto on 61st Avenue and Bell Rd. is absolutely fabulous.
I will never take my cars to any other place!!
