Hello Ladies,

I'm looking for a baby safe multi-purpose cleaning product. I'm nervous about cleaning my son's high chair and eating area with something that might harm him. Also, I'm looking for a safe product to mop my floor with. My son is crawling all over the place now. Thanks so much!!

What can I do next?

Seventh Generation has great non-toxic, biodegradable products including an "all purpose cleaner" that works on floors. You can also try the Children's Health Environmental Coalition link below for eco-friendly/non-toxic alternatives and recipes:

www.checnet.org/healthehouse/education/articles-detail.as...

My husband also read an article recently about how important it is to take your shoes off when entering the house as they can track in heavy metals and other toxic chemicals that are very dangerous and hard to get rid of.

Hope this helps!

There is a recipe for a fantastic all purpose cleaner that you mix yourself in the book titled Gorgeously Green. It also works good on floors and toilets! That book actually has a lot of great 'green' mom advice too. There are also several safe cleaners by Seventh Generation that you can buy at the Nugget market and maybe even the natural section at Raleys. I use their laundry and dishwasher detergent and they are really very good. I was impressed!

I also use Seventh Generation because it is eco friendly as well as "people friendly". Clorox also makes a Green cleaner that you can buy at Target that is safe. Method, a line you can also get at Target, sells a whole line of new products safe for the earth and your family. They have mops, cleaners, soaps etc....
I've used all of them and like them all.
Mrs. Meyers (which is a bit pricey but smells fantastic!!!) is found at Nugget and Linens and Things. I LOVE the geranium.
I also have Gorgeously Green by Sophie Uliano and it's a wonderful resource to better to earth and make your family safer with products.
Good Luck!

white vinegar and water is a safe, natural and eco safe all purpose cleaner/disinfectant. I use it on all surfaces, my wood floors, tile floors and especially on the high chair. You can also go on tree hugger.com and look up natural and safe cleaning supplies for all areas of your home. Hope this helps.

I'm a work at home mommy and I actually help moms shop wholesale for eco-friendly products! We have an awesome safe multi purpose cleaner and the only EPA approved, botanical disinfectant that kills 99.9% of all germs. I love sharing more with moms and I can be reached by requesting info at http://gogreenfor2moro.com. It's also a way for local moms to support a Lincoln WAHM :)

I have found really safe products I can use around my daughter and not even use gloves. IYou can't get them at Wal-Mart: wal-mart's "green" products have have hidden chemicals. I'd love to tell you more about them- there are SO MANY cleaners to choose from, so it just depends which one you want. :)
