Looking for Activities for Toddler

Moms,
I am looking for ideas on things to do with my very active and curious 17 month old son. I work full-time so I'm not able to do many of the activities I'd like to do, i.e. library story time, stroller fitness, play groups, etc. Of course we go to the park when the weather is nice and sometimes we go to the play area in the mall but often times there are too many big kids. We already do the Little Gym once a week but I'm looking for some more ideas so we can have some variety on the weekends and possibly in the evenings. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

Not sure if you would be interested in another class but my son loves his "swim lessons". He started when he was 6 months old and it is really hard to keep him away from any water source now!

Toddlers are so easy. I have purchased everything imaginable for the backyard. I have a swingset, climber-slide, easel, picnic table, swings, sandbox, etc. Plus things like sidewalk chalk, sandbox toys, a plastic rake and shovel to "help" me garden, and much more. We just go out and have a blast together!
Also, if you wanted more of a social setting, you could check out yahoo groups for a working mother's group or check out your local rec center for Saturday classes.

Ft. Worth zoo is always nice- you could get a membership and go whenever you like.

Check with your local recreation centers. We did evening swim classes when our son was a toddler in Keller. And he also participated in a mommy and me gymnastics class at the Roanoke Rec center. N Richland Hills rec center offers a lot of preschool classes that just last one day and are often on the weekends or evenings.

Cabelas or Bass Pro is fun and easy trip for us. We go and watch the fish in the aquariums.

And we also like the Botanical gardens for free entertainment...bring a stroller though. We never needed it on the way in, but by the time we left we both needed it! Late October is the monarch butterfly migration...butterflies everywhere!!!
