Hi ladies,
I'm due on Friday, March 7th, and have a ton of money to spend from my 2007 FSA account, so I thought I might try acupuncture to move along labor and just to relax. Does anyone have any recommendatios in Manhattan? Upper west side or midtown would be great, but it's not mandatory.
Thanks!
J.

I am a chiropractor on 56th and Park and I might be able to help you out with items for your bed (ie pillows, onlays, traveling pillows etc) and then you will have them to enjoy after you give birth.
If you are interested, call me at ###-###-####. We can talk further.

Hi, I know a great acupuncturist, she was/is also my doula (I'm due in April with my second child) Her name is Christiane Mauro and her number is ###-###-####. Her office is on 14th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues. If she has time, she does home visits too. Good Luck!
Hi, J..
I have a phenomenal acupuncturist for you. Her name is Michelle Helfner and she can even email you points to help once you go into labor. I'd like to say that I tried them, but I was in too much pain (back labor) to even think about them. Oh, well. Anyway, here's her information. Tell her that you were recommended by Alex Byrne.

Hi-
You can go to www.choicesinchildbirth.org to find an acupuncturist in your neighborhood who specializes in working with pregnant women. I would be happy to work with you, but my office is on 14th and 7th. If you have any question, please feel free to contact me, A. Panettiere, L.Ac, ###-###-####. Best wishes.
I saw Suzanne Connole towards the end of my pregnancy to help with some back and hip pain, and later on, to help get labor moving. She is wonderful, and specializes in pregnant patients (she is also a doula). She is on 5th Ave in the 20s which was not very convenient for me, but it was worth it to get to her.
Here is her contact info:

I recommend Moshe Heller. He's on 61st and 5th. I saw him all throughout my pregnancy and he helped get my labor started.
His number is ###-###-####.
He also has a massage therapist and a naturopathic (sp?) chiropractor in his office.
I am a mom and Lactation Consultant. I have used acupuncture for induction - when I was post date and being threatened with medical induction.
Acupuncture works when the baby is ready. You may be feeling uncomfortable and want your baby on the outside. I would consider letting your baby stay in until he/she is ready. You will have an easier time with the baby in terms of feeding, contentment etc.
Enjoy the end of your pregnancy and I wish you a great birth!

Try Turning Point Acupunture. They are on Broadway & 60th. The number is ###-###-####. I used to see Amanda Silver for fertility and pregnancy issues - she's great. Not sure if they will see you so close to due date. First appt is a longer consult on your overall health, then based on whatever issues/complaints you have they will treat you.
I really loved it for the couple of years I did it.
Therese Sibon is a wonderful acupuncturist and she focuses on woman's isues. She is extremely knowledgable about labor, etc. She has attended and assisted at many births. Her number is ###-###-####. Congratulations!

Also if you would like to try shiatsu after the baby is born for the stress and soreness.
It is a massage (finger pressure) on the acupuncture points.
I am a shiatsu practitioner and I can tell you more about it if you are interested.
Fell free to call me at ####-###-####.
Thank you and good luck on your labor.

in Astoria, ____@____.com is great and she helped me get pregnant.
I really loved Suzanne Hill at Turtle Bay Acupunture (contact info below):
I was 16 days overdue and she came highly recommending for stubborn labors. She definitely helped things along in a comforting and competent way. She sensed my anxiety and dealt with that as well as my physical needs. She did a lot of pressure points, massage and needles. I highly recommend her!
