I bought the Emmerson brand online for 150.00 I've had it for a year and it's great. The audio/video cord has been replaced, because the way it was put in the car and was bent. It was only 5.00 to replace. It was a great investment.
I am looking for some advice on a portable DVD player. I am wanting to get one for my car to keep my 3 children calm during extended rides in the car. I thought that perhaps a dual screen would be best, they sit in the back of my Blazer and wasn't sure I wanted one mounted in the middle. The problem I am having is after searching online none of them have very good reviews. I was just wondering if anyone has one that they have had great luck with. I am not looking to spend a whole lot of money on it either.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Well a little longer than I had hoped to respond...been a crazy holiday season. I did purchased the one from Wal-Mart on their Black Friday ad. I have been pretty impressed with it so far. The kids have used it about 1/2 a dz times...it was a lifesavor when we were moving right after Christmas and the kids were spending a little too much time in the car. Highly suggest one!! Even if you are a parent like me who really limits the amount of time my children spend in front of the TV.

We have a Polaroid Dual Screen DVD player. We got it at Walmart 2 years ago and we love it! It is great for our extended car rides. We have a mini van. We either hook both screens up for the middle row of seats or we can put one screen in the middle row and one in the back row. It is very easy to hook up and to operate. It did not come with a carry case, but we had an old Playstation carry case that both screens, all of the cords, and the accessories nicely fit in. I would recommend it to anyone we know!!!
Hi N.,
I have 3 children and I bought a portable one at CVS. It does its job when we go back to IL to visit family. I have a mini van and I put it in the middle. I use this carrying case that I purchased at Walmart and with this case are straps that go around the head rest of the car so no one has to hold it. It works for us and I didn't want to spend lots of money.. I think it does the job when we travel..

we got ours at Best Buy - the Best Buy brand - I think the name is insignia - but dont hold me to it - it broke with in the 1st year- I think from something my kids did - we took it in and they gave me a new one - that one has lasted a long time. My kids are VERY rough on it -
I think it was like 89.00
I bought one that we really like at Best Buy. It's an RCA, and it came with two monitors and a game controller that has games built in. So they can do both. It was only like $200 and it's super nice having for the kiddos. I'd definitely check at Best Buy or Circuit City, though. I've generally always had luck with those stores for any electronics I buy.

This is what we have and my kids love it. We have had it for a year now and haven't had any problems with it at all. It may be a little more than you are willing to spend but it is well worth the extra $$. Good luck with your hunt!
Hi N.! We bought a dual screen portable DVD player for our truck. It is easy to use and install. We purchased it at Target, I think it is a Sony, paid almost $200 for it. It works REALLY well and has excellent sound and resists skippin gon the horrible Oklahoma roads. Good luck!
Despite what kind you buy, I highly reccommend the dual screen.
We have a single screen that we tend to position on the center console of our Tahoe. Our 3 year old gets car sick after looking at it for maybe 20 minutes. We have figured out if we position it infront of her attached to the driver's head rest, we don't have that problem.
N. - we have the one from Wal-Mart. It's a dual screen, however, one of the awesome features of this is that it can play 1 movie on both screens or 2 seperate movies. It has headphone jacks and everything. we used ours on our move from Illinois to Maryland and it was a life saver! Let me know if I can be of any more help. Oh yeah, i think it was like $180. Great value!!!
I got one for my girls and they are younger than yours but it works great.I buy everything at walmart because if something happens you can always take it back.Alot of them come with warrenties also.Hope this helps:)
We bought one from Target last Christmas for my 2 year old. It is audiovox brand and it has been very durable. My in laws live out of state so it works wonders when we make that trip. I also like that you don't have to leave them up on the back of the seats you can remove them when you are not using them. My in laws bought ours but I think it was around $100 but you can watch around Christmas and they all might go on sale. It is a great investment.
HI N.,
I bought a Poloraid brand dual dvd player on-line through walmart several years ago. It came with two head phones, a game control w/ 20 or 50 games (can't remember for sure). My kids use it everytime several times a day and it still works great...I think I paid $199.00 for it but I would highly recommend it.
Good Luck,
L.
i use Polaroid 7" Two-Screen Car DVD Player w/ Game Controller & Built-in Games......i think they sell them at walmart, but i bought mines used on ebay for $100......they are the best one i have used so far.....you just hang them on the back of your two front seat's headrest....i told my sister about it so she went to walmart and bought one set for her SUV and she loved it....i think she said she spent about $150+tax but the one she bought does not come with the built in games and game controller.......kudos on Grey's Anatomy!
We got a dual screen from Walmart a few years ago at there day after Thansgiving sale and it was a Durabrand. It is still working and we like that you can plug it into the car or the wall. I took one back that was just one screen that I had gotten first because it did not have a plug in for the wall. Good luck!! T.
