Hi R.,
My cousin works at a Mirabella Hair Design in Tempe. It is off the 60 and Rural Rd. I wouldn't recommend her but there is an "African American Hair Stylist" there who is really nice and always very busy. You may want to try her. Sorry I don't know her name but you can call Mirabella at ###-###-####.

Have you looked in Signature salon Studios on Higley and Southern? there are a few people who could help you even 1 man! i dont have the numbers and you probably wont find it in the phone book. Most of them work from their cel phones! but you can go in there and look around. the numbers are outside all the doors!
Good luck!!

I am not African American, but I used to go to an African American hair stylist. He is great. My step son wanted braids so that's how I got in contact with him, and when he moved salons, I followed him. He was also a lot cheaper than the "white" hair stylists. I would totally recommend him. I no longer go to him because we have since moved further North. I can't remember his name, but the last time I was there, he was the only male. He is originally from Florida, I believe, if that will help you when you call. He is at Balaros Hair Phase II. The phone number is ###-###-####, and the address is 2020 N Arizona Ave # G42, Chandler (Arizona Ave and Warner)

Hi R.,
I am looking for the same thing and just found this one IN GILBERT!! I was shocked. It is located off Val Vista and Williams Field (not too far from the San Tan Mall) in the same shopping complex with Tuesday Morning, Sprouts and Warren's Bistro (Jazz Club and restaurant). It is called Hairadize ... http://www.hairadize.net/ I stopped by yesterday and it looks good. Just starting out so I don't know who's good or not but Cindy is the person I met from another Salon and she is there now and she did a good job on the people I saw. The other Salon she used to work with was Baleros (one location in Tempe / Phoenix border and one in Chandler - Arizona / Warner) I recommend Tameka at that salon. Elmira is the person who used to do my hair and is the owner but she was in an accident last year. Tameka filled in and did a great job. Doris also filled in and did okay. ###-###-#### Good Luck! Let me know what you decide on and recommend. BTW, I see you are a Stay at Home. Check out Mocha Moms. There is a chapter in the East Valley and Phoenix. I belong to Phoenix because I joined before the EV chapter was established. www.mochamoms.org.
