Looking for Day Care/school in Lakewood, Dallas

I have a 2 1/2 year old that goes to Wilshire Baptist and we absoulutely love it!! The program is only 3 days a week from 9:30-2:30 but maybe you could find a nanny or SMU student to pick your child up and stay with him on the other days, too. The cost is about $20.00 a day. Also, my best friend has her son at East Dallas Developmental Center. Her daughter also went there for 3 years. I know they are pretty reasonably priced and also offer part-time as well as full time care. Hope this helps you. Pleasse feel free to e-mail me if you have any other questions.

I don't know what way you go to work, but I have had 3 friends use the large Lutheran church on Northwest Highway between Plano Rd and Jupiter. They have both loved it.

I teach early childhood music and movement in several centers throughout East Dallas and Lakewood/Lake Highlands area. There are some that are very good that are only half-day care, like from 9:00 to 2:00. Some of these only run during the school year and break for summer (something to consider).

Here's who I like/or who some of my friends use and they like:

White Rock United Methodist Discovery Center on Old Gate close to White Rock Lake.

Dallas Day School on Office Parkway in East Dallas off Haskell (closer to downtown).

The Children's Center (formerly on Mockingbird @ Abrams) now located near Casa Linda by White Rock Lake.

I've heard that St. John's Episcopal off Lake Highlands has a day school.

There is a church on Bob-o-Link called Northridge Presbyterian and a friend of mine uses their preschool.

There's one on Skillman in East Dallas called Kid Kountry. Don't know much about it.

A friend of mine used to use the East Dallas Development Center on Skillmand @ Live Oak and she really liked it.

Note that if any of them are NAEYC accredited, they may be more expensive.

I also live in Lakewood. Over on Fitzhugh & Central. There is a place called the Church of Incarnation. I know it sounds kind of funny. But they have a great day care there. the phone number is:###-###-####.The price is right. Worth checking out for yourself.

You can use this site to search by your zip code. It lists preschools that are early childhood accredited. Schools that opt to go through process have to meet a high standard of care, quality, ratios, etc.
