You could check out the Arboretum in Chanhassen. It's off Hwy 5 just before Victoria. My 20 month old had a blast looking at all the different pretty flowers & they have a lot of children activities their too. We went with her grandparents & they really liked it too. It's $7 for adults & free for children under I think 3-5?

Since you're in the south suburbs, what about the water park at MOA? That way you'll be indoors for the heat, plus in the water! There is a lot of stuff for little ones of about his age to do there also!

If the weather cooperates, you could go to Como Zoo. If you need to stay inside, how about Edinborough Park in Edina?

Hi there, not sure you have your plans worked out for Friday...but, on July 27th at the Purgatory Creek Park in Eden Prairie they have the Zinghoppers-Children's Music group. It is free and fun for all ages. it is 12-1pm
it is at 13001 Technology Drive.
Eden Prairie

You could plan a picnic lunch or something prior to the show.

A coworker just clued me in that if you have a library card at Hennepin or Ramsey county libraries, you can check out museum passes! She said they're available for a bunch of different ones--the Children's Museum, the Science Museum--so that would definitely be cheap!

You could check out a pass at your library and go to the MN zoo or the Science Museum. Or Eden Prairie mall has a great indoor playground for that age. On Nicolet and HWY 13 in Burnsville there is a great water fountian park which is totally free, you could get some Subway and have a picnic there.
