I was in your same situation recently and I found Pebblecreek Montessori to be one, if not, THE most traditional montessori school around this area. We absolutely LOVE it and my 18month old daughter couldn't be happier. She LOVES going to school. The comraderie of the kids there is like family. When my daughter goes in in the morning, the kids say "come sit by me, emma" and they are just so inviting and get along so well. They are so holistic and my daughter is always doing things at home I know she learned at school, like her new obsession with wiping the table at dinner or the fact that she will sweep the kitchen floor for 30minutes just for fun. And she can recognize several letters. The teachers are all highly trained and are degreed and montessori certified. The school was founded by 5 women who worked at different montessori schools that weren't really following maria montessori's protocol, so they joined together to start their own. It's just awesome, and they go all the way up through 5th grade. They also offer financial aid and have several different "school day" plans. You can do a 1/2 day, regular school day, or extended day OR you can do All Year Montessori. The kids also all where uniforms which I think helps create that sense of unity they share. They also offer afterschool programs and classes like dance/basketball/karate/etc. The office staff is SUPER friendly, They provide meals-- all healthy and organic when possible.... I just can't say enough about how awesome they are so I'd better just stop myself now :)
