Looking for Great Party Favor Ideas!

I did little sand buckets and they were filled with little rakes, and squirters and bubbles and I had the kids names written on them in marker and then I wrapped them in plastic bags from the $1. They were a big hit. I got most of the items at Oriental Trading.

I've used plastic decorative cups filled with lollipops or Hershey's kisses or cute pencils and stencils depending on the age. I did that this year for both my son's Transformers party and my daughter's Ariel party. Party City as well as Wal-mart and probably other retail stores sell these cups with the theme on them and the most expensive I've seen them is 0.99. Another idea that my friend did that was really cute was to buy plain white T-shirts in kids' sizes and have the kids paint them. Even a one yr old can finger paint. Have fun!!

Play-Doh and cheap dollar store cookie cutters in fun shapes. It is age appropriate and super-cheap. I think you can do 10 kids for under $5.

I am always in "favor" of a favor that is usefull. I hate to spend money (doesn't matter if it alof or a little bit of money) on something that will get thrown away. I myself hate getting little plastic toys that I am going to throw away the next day. Also, candy is not always a good idea, you are never sure if the parents will allow it or not.

A few cool things that I have done, and that we have gotten are now on sale. A small sand bucket with shovel are great. You can even put thier name on it, or fill it with bubbles or other things. I know that it isn't pool season, but you can use them in the tub. another thing we got that was cool was a butterfly net from the dollar store. Can use them in the fall for other bugs, but my boys really liked them. A bug catcher is always fun too for lightening bugs and so on.

Crayons and coloring books are always handy too. And the travel magna doodle type thing.

I would rather spend $2.00 on something that will be used, then $1.00 on something thrown away.

for that age group, the kids don't really know what a party favor is and you could go the way of the mom. How about a pack of travel wipes or even a disposable sippy cup with some treats inside are appreciated by the moms. it is something easy for the diaper bag.

could you take pictures at the party and have them developed quickly and put into frames for them to take home??
that would take some assistance from a family member or something but might be a really really cute idea, especially if you had the guests decorate the frames at the party. I think you could probably find cheap fun foam frames with prestickied foam shapes, or i have even made adorable gifts by putting stickers on the frames of those acrylic refrigerator picture frames that you can buy for a $1.

Some Dollar generals sell cheap books. that might be nice.

How about little gift bags all color themed? Being that young, you can use all kinds of toys & things that would interest them. Have each kid reach in a bag that you filled with colored discs cut outs. What ever color they pull, they take a gift bag of that color. You can buy the gift bags in groups at walmart or at dollar store. Fill each gift bag with goodies. Ex: purple gift bag with purple stickers, purple balls, purple lollipops, purple slinky- anything purple. The same for blue, yellow, whatever. You can find so much at the dollar store! I found adorable purple stuffed teddy bears for my daughters first birthday party for the girls!

Depending on the theme for your party, you can usually find simple, inexpensive items at your craft store. Our JoAnn Fabric has little dollar bins at the front of the store with color your own wooden puzzles, small foam projects, etc. These would work for the older kids ages 4-5. It gives them something to do and play with later...way better than candy and junky goody bag toys.

I am all for the gifting that keeps gifting.

For my sons party the summer we favored inexpensive wooden models to assemble and paint . Found them at Michaels for a $1.00.
They were great -- they gave mom/dad a favor break later too with some structured activity.

For your targeted age group I like sidewalk chalk, bubbles, mini activity books, 100% juice boxes and trial mix snack provided there are no food allergies. Boxes of raisen's

My son is sensitive to red dye -- the gift bag full of sweets is not a favor for us as I pay a price all day following the party.

Little crafting kits of some sort -- like the foam board kits broke down into individual packets/ziplocks would be a suggestion.

Nothing like a child coming home a wee bit tired, worn out, not loaded up on sugar, and has something in hand they are interested in doing for a short while. That's my kinda party. LOL

The last party my daughter was invited to gave out cookie lollipops. They were flower shaped cookies with pink and purple icing. They were on a long lollipop stick (and cellophane covered) and then 'planted' in a basket for the children to take. I thought it was an awesome idea.

The mom said she bought the cookie mix and icing at a local candy making supply store and all she had to do for the cookies was add water.

I may be recycling this idea myself!

For my son's b-day party, we did toothbrushes for everyone. I have also done t-shirts that we found on clearance. I always look for something that doesn't break or end up right in the trash.

I sell small party favors on ebay for as little as 1.00 per kid if your interested in pencils, stickers, erasers, type of thing. Email me if you are interested.

similar to the duckie theme - there was a messy theme i saw in a family fun magazine...it had kids get messy (mud pies, finger paints etc) and at the end they got hosed down and sent home. The favors were washclothes with small rubber duckies.

O. of the best party favors my son ever received was a bowl/cup set! Very useful and we are still using it 2 and a half years later!
I am of the opinion that the bags fuyll of little stuff is really just junk I don't really want anyway so I have done big hershey bars and wrapped them in a self-designed/printed "wrapper" over the original. I'd rather give O. 2 dollar item than 20 five cent gifts!

Just a note: Whatever you decide to use, please make sure that the product is USA made. Some of the crayons, toys, dollar store stuff, etc. that are imported have high lead levels and that's O. THING you DON't want to hand out at the party!

I usually go to a dollar store and personalize each gift bag with a few goodies. The dollar store also sells little gift bags (20 for $1). Bubbles are always a hit at that age so you can put a bottle of bubbles in every one plus anything else you think is age appropriate.

To make it easy, we had a string-pull pinata and let the kids collect the candy in treat bags to take home. In addition to candy we had little boxes of tattoos that we found at the party store, they were small enough to fit inside the pinata and came in princess and sport themes. It was fun, gave the kids something to do at the party, and didn't require much prep time at all. Since you only have 10 (we had a lot of kids so we couldn't afford too much), you could give them sippy cups that match your theme, or have their names on, the older ones could even decorate their own, and they can take the pinata treats home in their cups.

A cheap personal idea is making a CD mix of favorite songs off of Itunes. I do that for my son's parties every year, and everyone loves them. It's also easy to put a photo on a cd label to print on each one. Good luck!

go to www.orientaltrading.com they have great stuff! I had a rubber duck theme. I gave everyone a few ducks, bubbles, stickers, duck necklace. You can also do crayons and coloring book, sidewalk chalk buckets and just write the child's name on the top. good luck!

One idea for treat in the bags is to get a box of those individually wrapped goldfish crackers, and some Gerber graduates 'juice treats' for the 1 year-olds. I got some bubbles from Papermart, they were in a 3 pk. for $1.00. Also, some McDonalds this time of year sell sheets of coupons, (for small fry, cone, etc...) that's always a favorite. Sitckers of any kid too!

One year I found tin can banks filled with animal crackers. They were only 89 or 99 cents at Walmart. Another year I put bubbles, little tubs of applesauce, and gerber fruit snacks (they are softer than regular fruit snacks) in bags. Juice boxes, stickers, lollipops, candybars with homemade wrappers and boxes of raisins have also gone over well.

How about Homemade sock puppets.Very easy to do.You can keep them simple or they could have alot of detail. Depends on time.
