My daughter will be 9 soon and she wants to have a party at home. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do with them? There will be about 10 girls.

craft stuff is fun. Dress up is fun too. You could have them do a dress up tea party. if you have a dress up box they will play for hours. all you need is a bunch of old prom / bridesmaids dresses (about $2 each at the thrift store) and stuff for a fancy tea party. my kids always loved this. you can skip the game portion totally. just do a tea party. let them have fancy finger stuff and little cakes / cookies. a couple kinds of tea in real teapots and real china tea cups / saucers. you can pick those up at the thrift store also and let the girls each take a set home as a little favor. lots of fun

Depending upon your girl's interests, here's an idea. I have seen a lot of girls that age like to get dressed up. Why don't you invite the girls over and have them all wear their favorite formal dresses, like the ones they would wear to church? You can have a formal dinner and teach them all some things about etiquette. It would be instructional as well as fun for them. They would never forget the experience. If any of your daughter's friends are lacking a nice dress I've seen some very reasonably priced online, like here: http://mayleesboutique.com/flower-girl-dresses-c-13. Have fun with the party!

My daughter recently turned 9 - she wanted a pajama party (I wasn't ready for a Slumber) they did karaoke and danced, played with barbies and just hung out together. they all settled down and watched part of a Christmas movie as well. We ate pizza and salad and cupcakes and they had a wonderful time. Two of the moms stayed and we chatted in the kitchen and had a little wine. It was a nice evening

I think the craft idea is great, a bracelet or maybe decorate one of those flat purses. You could do mani-pedis, too. One of my friends, for her daughter's 10th b-day, let the girls make their own pizzas - it was a big hit.

Do you need invitations? I can help you with that, if you do. We can do matching thank-you notes, too. Check us out: www.pjgreetings.com. I give a discount for mamasource moms, too.

With my girls, they love crafts with beads and such. You could do some kind of craft party. They could put together bracelets or some kind of necklace, maybe even both. They could decorate small wood boxes you could buy online or from Michaels using jewel beads. These are all things my girls love to do. Of course, my girls share their b-day with their brother so stuff like this is held for another occassion.
