Check out KOA campsites. My husband and I drove across the country a few years ago, and did a lot of camping along the way. We wanted to make sure that we were staying in clean safe campsites so we stayed at KOA sites. Have fun!!
Has any one had a great experience with a campground in northern NJ that they would recommend? We will be staying in a tent but would like toilet/ shower access and maybe a pool or lake.

Hi R.,
If you love the outdoors but are not thrilled about sleeping in a tent, there is the most amazing place in New Paltz, NY. www.mohonk.com. It was truly the vacation of our lives, my four children (now we have five), said that it was better than Disney! You can do all the outdoors activities and stay in the most beautiful place. We were supposed to go camping but I was 7 months pregnant and the thought of packing all the food, blankets, the kitchen sink and everything else that you need to make camping fun, I realised that this was not going to be fun for me, so it was by accident that we found this fabulous resort. Check out the website, you may want to rough it this time, but it is great to consider in the future. Mohonk has something for everyone and the resort is outstanding.
Wishing you a fun adventure camping!

hi R., i dont know if this is the area you are looking at, but we used to go to indian rock, its right near great adventure. a family business, very clean and comfortable facilities, a pool, etc. we were tent campers too, we went to many places over the years and this was one of our favorites. we havent been there for 6 years or so :( so cant vouch that its still the same. and if you go, could you let me know how it is? we miss it so much and i think this summer we will finally be brave enough to try it with the kids. hth, D.
