You've already got a lot of advice but I just wanted to recommend Dr. Alvis as well. His staff is very friendly and he is very detail oriented. He never makes you feel rushed. He also answers all the "new mom" questions with such patience.
We have only lived in Prosper since August and have tried to get in to the see the doctors at centennial, who have been recommended by several neighbors and have had no luck. Does anyone recommend any other male pediatricians? We've been seen a couple of times by a women doctor in Frisco and my kids are not very comfortable around a women.

We have been very happy with Dr. Mobley at Plano Presby. Very easy to get to, straight down the tollway from Prosper. It is a practice with 4 doctors, so even if Mobley is not available, one of the other doctors can see your children in urgent situations. Dr. Mobley is very laid back, and easy going with a great personality. The most important factor for us has been the nurses, since they are the ones you talk to the most (I have an infant, I've called several times in a week before.)

We live in The Colony and we see Dr Pauolo at Trinity North Medical Center. He is great!! There is also another male Dr. there too. We love them both.
I second Dr. Kessinger. My son is scared of doctors and he makes my son feel so comfortable. He is extremely knowledgable and did a Fellowship at Vanderbilt in Ped ICU. He is the most thorough of the doctors in the practice so I always make sure we do our well visits with him because he does not miss anything and really educates you as a parent. We have also seen the rest of the practice (all females) if you have to see them at some point and they have been fabulous too. Highly recommend!
Dr. Thai Hoang in Frisco Texas gets rave reviews.
I take my kids to Dr Iresh Kumar of 'Lone Star Physicians Group' in Frisco. He is very friendly with the kids and knows what he is expected of. The phone no is ###-###-####.

I don't know how far you're willing to go, but in Allen you can see Dr. Yuri Cook. My daughter was seeing him for a while but we've switched to one of the females in his practice only b/c I'm more comfortable with a woman. Dr. Cook was great though. He was very friendly and even changed a poopy diaper for me. LoL The practice is Raintree Pediatrics and their office is really cool I think. They have a large aquarium and murals of story book pages, etc. Anyway, hope that helps.
I concur with Lori B. Dr. Alvis in McKinney is absolutely wonderful. He's very detail-oriented and definitely believes in educating the parent as well as treating the child. Their office staff is very nice and helpful which for me, was as much of a deciding factor as choosing the Dr.

In McKinney we LOVE Dr. Kessinger. We use the females at his practice for our girls but use him for our son.
