Bethany Woman's Clinic houses the Bethany Birthing Center, which is, to my knowledge, the only birthing center in Phx. I had my second child there, with an amazing midwife, Connie Garcia. I've also heard Lynette is very good... but I think you'll get to meet all of the midwives. Our experience was great- very smooth, peaceful; everything we wanted. My first child was born in a hospital here in Phx and if I could do that one over again, I use the birthing center in a heart beat.

Good luck!!!

Bethany home womans center is a great birthing center in the Valley... but I must tell you the hospitals are getting closer and closer to mimic the homey natural..(ast least a little more) natural feel rooms. My last pregnancy was handled and delivered by Connie Garcia, CM She is a midwive at Bethany womans, I trusted my life in her hands and she is an AWESOME midwive, I recommend her to everyone. She is also a Christian to let you know. I plan on going back to her with every pregnancy I have from now on.
I wanted to deliver at the birthing center but my insurance didn't cover it. So I opted for a hospital birth...just months after my delivery they began remodeling and building the birthing suites..complete with water birthers!! DANG! Just the fact that you have a midwive WILL change the experience in the hospital... My first I was really young 19 and I had a regular OB/GYN.. Man it was like a medical crisis and nothing was wrong!! But with my midwive...the calmness the peace and wisdom filled the air.
So that's that. Connie Garcia...is really one out of a bunch of great Midwives at Bethany Womens Center. 36th Ave. and Bethany home in Phoenix. God bless you and your little one in the oven. T.

Ok, first of all, Bethany Women's Center IS NOT A BIRTH CENTER ANYMORE. They had to close down that part of the facility due to lack of staff. So, there's that. Second. Connie Garcia is a midwife and she was My midwife through Babymoon Inn Birth Center and SHE WALKED AWAY FROM ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. I was in pre-term labor, calling her for help and advice, and she just stopped answering the phone. Turns out she left the practice without much warning, left MULTIPLE pregnant women hanging that night and into the future, which violates her oath as a midwife, and did not even have the decency to apologize. I can tell you, being 7 months pregnant and in labor and scared and not being able to reach your life line is TERRIFYING.

Babymoon Inn Birth Center is an amazing place. They are warm, friendly, treat women like queens, and cater to whatever you need. There is never pressure, they work with you in ANY FINANCIAL SITUATION, and your birth is YOUR BIRTH! You decide. You call the shots. You are encouraged to do whatever your body says is right. Marinah was my midwife. Amey Woodward Clarke was my nurse. Kelly Sunshine was my doula. All of them treated me like family, like a precious part of their world. I felt so safe and comfortable with them. Please contact them any time for a tour. They gave me the most beautiful, peaceful, fantastic birth a woman could ask for. Don't let anyone EVER pressure you to change your birth. It's your body, your birth experience, and your baby.

Good luck!!
