Looking for MOPS Group or Mother's Day Out in St. Charles

I'm looking for a MOPS group in the St. Charles area. Although I would love to go to a group that meets during the day, I don't think that would be possible. I have three little ones and babysit one more full time. I really don't know much about what MOPS is, but heard it's great. Would love to know more and to see if there's one around that has evening meetings...or maybe one that I could take four little ones to, even if one isn't mine. Any thoughts would be great. I really think my oldest (3) needs to get out and play with others his age. My daughter (2) may need to as well. Maybe a Mother's Day Out for him would be better???

What can I do next?

I'm not sure if you are willing to come into StL County but there is a great MOPS group at Parkway Baptist just off of 270 on Olive. They have two groups, one on Thursday nights and one on Friday mornings. They meet the 1st and 3rd Thursdays/Fridays of the month. Childcare is provided as well. You can go to www.parkwaybaptist.net for more info or I can give you the leaders' names/contact info. (They also have a Mother's Day Out program but I'm not familiar with it...yet!)

Go to the MOPS website, and put in your zip code, it will search for the meetings closest to your home. I like MOPS, and it is very reasonably priced. Good luck. I go to one in O'Fallon, if you want info I can give it to you.

Hi A.
Harvester Christian Church near Jungs Station Road has a Mops group during the day. I think there are others in the area that offer the night time meetings too. The MOPS website is a great source. I used to attend and loved it. We are members at Harvester. Attending a church is also a wonderful way to get you children involved with other kids. They can be in class on Sunday and Wednesday night. My daughter loves going to her class.
Also, she used to attend the moms day out program at the Methodist Church next door to Miss Amy B's on First Capital Drive. You could coordinate you children in Mom's Day Out with your day in MOPS!
Good luck. I agree that it's good for children to get out and play with other children their age.

Hi A.! As the others said, the MOPS website can help you find the nearest group. I attend First Baptist Harvester's mops(near Kohl's @ 94) and I know that there are other moms that bring a child who's not their's too. (I don't think one extra is a big deal....if you brought your whole daycare, maybe!). I do not know the status of openings, but I do know that last year we had new people joining all throughout the year. From talking to several of my friends that attend a different mops group, each group has it's own personality and feel....so if your first try isn't a good match for you, try a different group before giving up on mops altogether.

I attend a MOPS group at Elizabeth Ann Seton church in St. Charles. We meet once a month on the second Monday night of the month from 6:30 to 9pm. We have different topics and activities each month, along with various playgroups and mom's night out activities during the year. Feel free to email me if interested and I can give you more info.
