Hi, I'm new to Houston & looking for personable doctors. I prefer that OBGYN and PCP be female with a decent amount of experience. For dentist don't have preference male or female, but looking for someone who is pretty cutting edge (uses ultrasonic to do cleanings rather than scraping etc.). If you have some recommendations, please send them on! Many thanks!

I would highly recommend Dr. Pamela Berens in the medical center. She's with UT Physicians (OBGYN) and she's very personable and intelligent. She's a professor at the medical school and she's also a huge breastfeeding advocate and has written many articles in Parenting magazines on the subject (as well as other things). Her number is ###-###-####. I've also heard good things about Dr. Barbara Schroeder. Good luck...It's a difficult thing trying to find the right doctor!

Hi, I don't know how far the Medical Center is from you. Not really familiar with Houston yet. But when I moved here I found out I was pregnant and so I had to look for an OBGYN and like you I wanted a female. I went to THE COMPLETE WOMEN'S CARE CENTER down by the Medical Center. And let me tell you I loved my experience with them. I was with Dr. Jurney and she is great. She is a wonderful person. Would make me feel great and seemed like she was excited with the birth of my baby girl. She would always answer all my questions and give me adivse when I did not know what to do. She was in labor with me and went to the hospital every day I was there until I got to go home. The office number is ###-###-#### and they are located in The Medical Center by Fannin. I don't remember their address but I know it's right in front of the Memorial Hermann. It's the professional building. If you need me to help you out just email me. Thanks and take care and oh yeah WELCOME TO H-TOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a working mom :( who would love to stay home with her baby girl. A first time mommy and married to my best friend, who is a great daddy to his little princess. Already contemplating a second baby!!!!!!LOL

I recomend Kimberly Bobo (OB-GYN) she is with the Women's Specialist Group at the St. Luke's Towers. Her telephone number is ###-###-####. She is awesome. She takes the time to talk to you and your significant other to explain what is going on and why certain tests are being performed. I have never felt as though she were in a rush to get me in and out.

I just have to recommend my OB/GYN because she's very caring and experienced. I first went to her when another doctor was telling me I HAD to have a hysterectomy. She met me and my husband in her office when I had my clothes on! She asked me what I would like when I thought I had no alternative. (I'm like you, had home births, preventive, no meds). My husband was pleasantly surprised when she asked for his input. Anyway, I had such a great experience so I told my family and friends and everyone started seeing her. My daughter is pregnant with her second child and seeing her. Here's her info:

Dr. Kelly E Wilson
7400 Fannin Suite 930
Houston, 77054

Anyway, you got some choices of references here so it seems a good doctor isn't hard to find in Houston. I'm sure you can check your insurance to see who is on it and even read some reviews on these doctors on the web. May God guide you to the right one for you. Blessings!

For OB - the person to go see is Dr. Damla Dryden. She is with the Women's Specialists of Houston in the St. Luke's Medical Tower. I see that someone else mentioned her here already, so I just wanted to get my vote in. She is absolutely THE BEST. She also has a great PA who works for her as well. I can't put into words exactly how great she is, but I love her. She delivered my first child (after a very difficult labor) and is seeing me through my second pregnancy. I trust her.

I really like my OBGYN. Her name is Barbara Schroeder and she is with OGA Associates on the 4th floor of the new building behind the Texas Women's Hospital. Unfortunately, I can't find my business card book right now or I could give you the address and telephone number. (My two-year-old probably hid it somewhere.) You should be able to find her on 1-800-Doctors.
Hope this helps.

Hi E.!
Welcome to Houston! I live in West U too and my OB GYN is a wonderful woman named Dr. Dryden. She is located in the St. Lukes Towers on Fannin. When I had my baby she came in even when she wasn't on call. I absolutely LOVE her. Her number is ###-###-####. It sounds like you have 2 really good references for ob's so I don't think you'll have a problem there. As for dentists...I go to a very swet gentle dentist located on Tangley called The Village Dentist. Her name is Dr. Tran ###-###-####). I don't even remember who my PCP is?!!!! I haven't gone for sooo long! I use my ob when i need to as my PCP. Good luck!!

I highly, highly recommend my OBGYN Dr. Denise Nebgen. ###-###-#### She is a wonderful person, and a good doctor, and she cares about her patients and listens to you. She gave me emergency surgery and it was a difficult surgery, and she did a wonderful job. But, she is in the medical center, off of Fannin.(Methodist - Smith Tower) To me she is well worth a little traffic.
