Ok without sounding too desperate, I am looking for other moms that I have stuff in common with. I am 27 and a sahm of three little ones, two girls ages 5 & 3 and a 1 year old boy. I have lived in Texas for 7 years and pathetically have no friends, besides my husband and him as a friend well thats debatable. I am so tired of not having any girlfriends to talk with, hang out with and just go shopping or something. I have never been in a situation to really make friends, and everyone I meet is much older than me, don't get me wrong there is nothing bad about that. Well I got a lot of responses which was great. Some suggested that we set up a play date for moms 30 and under. It sounds like a good idea. I stay at home so any day except Tuesday's are good for me. My daughter goes to afternoon kindrgarten so it would have to be something in the morning, or late afternoon. Why doesn't everyone let me know what days are good for them and then we can set something up, this next week. I am 28 and have one eight month old daugher..I feel like since Iv'e had her its been hard for me to make freinds with mommies..since all my freinds are single or childless...I would love to go shopping or get a cup of coffee.. ..I also work full time, so that makes things difficult..Don't ever feel alone!!!
I am also 27, and pretty close to you(I'm in NRH)! I am not a sahm, but I don't work. I am a student at TCC. Hubby and I have one little girl, 5yo, who just started kindergarten this year. I also have little to no friends. Well, I do have some friends but 99% of them don't have kids and don't understand if I need to bring my daughter with me or if my time is restricted due to her. My very best friend lives in Houston so visiting often is kinda out of the question. I don't really do a lot of nightlife but I'd love to have someone to do something with, even if it was only once a week coffee together or something. I am also pretty shy at first. :) Let me know if you'd like to get together one day.
I am 27 too. I am a single work at home mom. My kids are 7 and 4. So given all that, I don't get out much to meet people either. We ought to schedule a playdate/mommmy meet with all the under 30 crowd on mamasource. I am just west of you in Haslet.

There are a lot of us out there in the same boat. We moved here about a year ago and I have had trouble meeting "good" friends. I recently joined Meetup.com and found playgroups on there for my son and the moms have been very nice...they even do activities without the kids. You may want to try that. I'm a 30 year old Mom of a two year old. If you ever want to hang out let me know!

That's so funny; I was just complaining to one of my girlfriends about that--but she's in seattle. I have girlfriends that have moved all over the country and the world for that matter, but don't have a single one that is actually in the same city I live in. and even with the couple in the metroplex, it's so hard to get our schedules to match up! I've been so frustrated that everywhere I think I might make new friends everyone already knows everyone else and I'm too shy to make myself part of the group. Anyway, I'm 29 with a 5 year old, 3 year old and one on the way. I'd love to get together for coffee or a playdate! You have several responses--we should put together a playdate for everyone--assuming we could match schedules! :)

gosh you sound like my twin! I have very few friends due to being a stay at home mommy and having a child. Your friends that dont have kiddos dont undestand that they have to be your shaddow and go everywhere you go so its hard to hang out with them.
I have a few close friends but not even enough to fill up a hand of 5 fingers with...so sad. I am def looking to have some friends to talk to and hang out with that understand the life of a stay at home mommy!

I also suggest meetup.com! I'm 28 and have a 2 yr old and a 5 month old. I've met some wonderful people whom I probably wouldn't have met otherwise. It's been nice getting together for playdates whether they're at someone's house or the mall playground or an occasional mom's night out! Don't be afraid to join b/c you won't know anyone...there are new people constantly joining and probably have the same feeling and the current members are very welcoming.
