Where are all the fun moms?
So I just moved here in January and really want to find mom friends that my one year old son and I
can hang out with. We did the gymboree thing but there was only one other kid in his class. Where can I find
younger moms looking for playdates and stuff?

What can I do next?

Yes, where do you live? My kids go to Valley View Parents Day Out and Preschool and I've met a lot of fun moms there! I don't go to church there but there is a mom's group that I go to that is for both the schools and the church. I will admit we aren't quite as fancy and organized as some of the other MOPS groups I've heard about but it is a really nice group of ladies ranging in ages of moms and kids! We meet twice a month and there is free child care.

Also, when the weather gets warmer there will be a lot more people in the parks and stuff. I met my two closest mom friends from a work out class I used to take. It was a stroller fitness class. My friend doesn't teach hers anymore but I think there are still a few in the area, so maybe google it. Stroller Strides is one class, I'm not sure if there are others.

Also check out Music with Mar. It is an awesome music class that we used to go to a lot! Beth Whelend (not sure of the spelling on the last name) teaches it in the Olathe area (not one in OP) and she's awesome. Plus the classes are cheap and my kids loved them! My oldest is now 5 and she just begged to go back there! There were a lot of nice moms in there. Google Music with Mar and it should come up. She teaches out of a big church in Olathe, it's pretty easy to find.

Those would be my top suggestions. Feel free to PM me if you have other questions! Welcome to the neighborhood, it really is a pretty good place to live! :)

Are you in north/old OP or south OP? Big difference! If you are north, I had great success with groups/activities in the Brookside/Waldo/PV area. PM me if you are interested. I am a fun mom(!) but my only kiddo is 5 so i'm sure you're looking for a few more little guys to hang out with.

My suggestions are in Lenexa, but depending on where you are located in OP they may be close. We go to the Lackman library for story time. Lots of moms and little ones! Also, Cedar Ridge Christian Church off 87th & Lackman, has a coffee shop, a room with a few Little Tykes play structures for lil ones and also a gym where you can bring your own toys, balls,
ride-ons, etc.

You really should check into MOPS! That is a great way to meet moms! Legacy Christian Church 10150 Antioch offers MOPS every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month now thru May. They have morning MOPS from 9am to 11am and evening MOPS from 7pm to 9pm. Childcare is offered so your little one gets to play with new friends while you get mommy time. You even get to eat a hot meal while you are there!
