I just had my son on the 13th of July and was so busy prepping for the labor and delivery that I didn't begin looking for a pediatrician until now. I am looking for a recommendation for a pediatrician -- preferrably not at one of the big hospitals.

Dr. Bebe Han is one of the only pediatricians who still sees your baby himself after he is born or in the hospital if he ever needed hospitalization. Most peds have farmed that out to "hospitalist pediatricians" or belong to big call groups where you never know who you will see. He also has a great Nurse Practitioner named Patty in his office--my pick!
Do not see Dr. Koil if you at all want to alter your vaccination schedule. He is not a fan of that and gave us a hard time about it. We like Bebe Han, as he works with us on a one-at-a-time schedule and the very few times our children have been sick or injured they've stayed open or fit us in.
We use to go with Dr. Jurgen Upplegger. He's on Montgomery... between Carlisle and Jefferson. He was our pediatrician for 9 years. The only reason we changed doctors is because we moved to the middle of nowhere in Rio Rancho. I went with a pediatrician that is much closer. :O)

congratulations on the new baby! how exciting! well, we just love our pediatrician and cannot say enough nice things about him! his name is alwyn koil, md and he is located at the after hours pediatric clinic on montgomery and wyoming. the staff in the office are all so great; they have electronic medical records; they have extended hours so that if you need to be seen as late as 11 pm, you can! we just love them! i whole-heartedly recommend him to you!
my children go to Jurgen Upplegger and Dr. Thomas I love them and I live in RR but I drive to them. Love them both.
