Hi J.!
Can you tell me where you are from? You can email me privately if you don't want to post it on here. I'm in 2 playgroups but they are based out of different areas. I live in the middle of the 2, so they both suit me and my schedule great. I can lead you to one of these or help you find one closer to you if these wouldn't work.
I don't suggest mops though unless you are looking for more of a religious group. They only meet once a month and the kids are seperated from the moms. I did one for about 6 months when my dd was smaller and they made me feel really uncomfortable.
Also, if you have a Yahoo ID, check out their "Groups" section..both of mine are in there too.

Good luck and email me with any more questions. I have a 9yr old and have been doing playgroups since she was 18 months old..I also now have a 3 yr old son.

Definitely check out a local Early Childhood PTA. Try LECPTA.com for Lakewood's. You don't need to be a resident to join and playgroups are forming now! It's only $15 for the year and you get free children's parties, discounted tickets to tours and shows, parent's nights out, book club and much, much more!

Also, MOPS is a great organization (even though a previous poster dissed it.) The group I belong to meets formally twice a month with kids in care within the church and then we also meet for playgroups and park outings at other times. These women are some of the best friends I have now!

Feel free o e-mail off board for more information on either group! (____@____.com)

One of the best ways is to join an early childhood PTA. Look for them in your area

I am not sure where you are from but I do know that Gymboree has play groups and the Little Gym also has play groups. You can visit www.gymboreeclasses.com or www.thelittlegym.com to find out if you have any in your area. They each have a small monthly fee but it is well worth it to have access to their activities and beautiful play areas. Good Luck!
