I am a mom of a two year old little boy and I work monday through thursday and I am looking for a playgroup to join that meets fridays in San Jose. I would love to get my son in a playgroup so that he can meet other children his age. He go's to a small home daycare with only one other child his age. I would also like to meet other moms in the area. I am 27 and I only have one friend who has a kid, all my other friends just are not there yet and her child is the same one in daycare with my son.

I don't know off hand any "playgroup" but on Mon. Wed. & Friday there is a group of moms that meet @ Courtside racket club in Los Gatos to go on a walk around Vasona park I think they meet @ 10ish. I'm sure you could meet more people that way.

check out las madres. they group up by town and age of child. lots of park meetings and a little list of mommy stuff going on in san jose.
Las Madres makes playgroups according to when the kids were born so all the kids are the same age in the group. I joined two groups and am still friends with the moms. They group them according to where you live too so you don't have to drive too far for a playdate. Give them a call and they will hook you up with "your groups'" coordinator. I think their number is in the white pages.
Just wondering what part of San Jose you are looking for. It's a pretty big city...
Check out Meetup.com. There are several moms groups on the sight that you can join--most are free.
