Hello ladies. My husband and I have recently purchased a home in The Woodlands and need some repair work done. Does anyone have any glowing recommendations for a general contractor, flooring company, pool company, handyman, roofing, a/c, electrical, security etc? Thanks in advance.

Hi S.,

I work for a company called The Residence Doctor. We are located in Spring. We do all areas of home remodeling/repair. Check out our website at www.residencedoctor.com and give us a call if you want to set up a time for someone to come out and give you an estimate.

Hi S.. My husband and I own a pool company called Ocean Blue Pools. We have been in business for 10 years although my husband has been in the pool business for about 20 years. We are family owned and operated. Our office is located on North Eldridge between Louetta and Spring Cypress. We would love to come out to your house and have the chance to earn your business. Our website is www.obpi.com and our number is ###-###-####. Good luck with your new house and God Bless!!!

We used Fair Claims Roofing and were delighted with their work (and they were one of the lowest bids). For plumbing I call Wolfhagen. If you're a Christian and would prefer to use companies who are noted for such, Christian Brothers Automotive in Panther Creek has a booklet that lists Christian companies. By the way, they're wonderful for your automotive needs. I've got a yard guy who is great, not always that dependable, but we've got a corner lot that's huge and everyone always comments on how great our yard looks. If you're interested, I can give you his name and phone number. Comcast took over our security and I wouldn't recommend them. We don't have a pool and haven't had our floors replaced yet (although we need to). I've got an appliance warranty thru American Home Shield and they send whoever "pops up" on the que. I do like Butch's Appliance service guy, Royce. He's been great when they've been called. There is an a/c company that comes that I like also, but would have to look up their name. The church I go to is Christ Church United Methodist and I've been there for 14 years. It's got a great youth group and children's programs. Lots of diverse Sunday School classes for adults (even one for just women who attend church alone for whatever reason). Welcome to the Woodlands - you're gonna love it here!!!!

Welcome to the area.
I don't know what kind of pool company you need, repair or maintenance, but for the former I highly recommend Pool Works. They are a family-owned company, highly professional, very patient with nosey/picky customers like me. This past summer they resurfaced the pool, installed a doubledrain, installed a buffer between the patio and the pool and painted the pool deck. It was all done within 5 days, having started one week after we signed the contract and it was all done as promised. The sons of the owner came out several times, both on their own and when I requested their input. The workers who came were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. Really great company. They were recommended to me by a friend who is also nosey and picky. Their telephone number is ###-###-####.
For appliance repair I really like the guys at 1960 Appliance Service. Another small, family-owned company, they usually come out to make repairs the same day I call. Wow. What really impressed me is their honesty. i.e. When our 3-year-old front loader washing machine developed a slow leak in the drum, the repairman gave us two options. A - we could pay him $300 to replace the little plastic piece that may or may not need to be replaced again in three more years. B - we could go to Home Depot and buy a plastic water-heater tray for $35 to put under the washer. It's been 4 years and the machine is still working well with a slow leak sitting on the $35 tray. Their telephone number is ###-###-#### and they do service The Woodlands. They have a BBB rating too and take checks or credit cards.
Good luck.
