Hello!
I'm currently in grad school and going back to work full time on October 1. This will leave me little time to do much around the house and I'm looking for ways to spend as much time with my little angel as possible. I'm looking for someone to come to our house during the day (our nanny will be around to let her in) 2x per month to do things like clean the kitchen, bathroom, do the floors, dust, vaccuum, etc. We're in Royal Oak and would love to help out a local mom, preferably someone with experience. Looking to pay around $30 per visit (is that reasonable?).
Any good recommendations out there?
Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi T.,
I am also in RO and our cleaning lady Debbie is great. She also cleans the salon I own and my husband has apartments and she does all the cleaning there too. As far as the price, she cleans everyting, our house is about 1500 sft. charges us $80. Its so worth it. Give her a call at ###-###-####

T.,
Call Kristen C. (888) 746-5434 She owns a cleaning company called Clean Start Services. She comes and cleans my house on a monthly basis (we pay $100 a month for a 1900 sq ft home) This includes 3 bathrooms. They do an awesome job and pay attention to detail. I know that bimonthly prices are lower and you can even lower the price by what things you have done. They are very comparable to all companies in the area (I have looked at a few). If you do call her just let her know that Becky V from Mamasource referred you.

Hi T.,

I don't know how big your house is, but the going rate is around $20.00/hr. I would expect to pay at least $50.00, but ifyou can find someone for less, good for you!. Congrautlations on 'letting go' and letting someone else do the things on your list!

I use to do house cleaning while my kids were small before I started back to work full time when they went to college. $30 a visit will only get you around 2 hrs per day. Most house cleaners charge at least $15 an hour. Most flat rates for 4 hours is at least $50. House cleaning is hard work ... which we all know that. $30 for a visit is not alot for that kind of work. I was getting a $100 a day for 7 hours, but then again she had a huge house. Hope you can find someone, it sure helps when you can get good help.

It depends on the size of your house.. I will be using someone from this site that does further north of you for our 2200 square foot home. I'm only doing it once a month and it's $100.

Hi T.! I live in ferndale and might be willing to help you out! the price would actually depend on the size of your house and the details of what you would want done...if its just "touching up" or very detailed. I have 5 years of experience in cleaning. I have cleaned homes in the past and currently clean an art gallery twice a week in southfield and can provide references...please let me know if your interested!
Thanks so much
M.

We used to have a lady who cleaned our house (but I don't think she's taking new clients). It was private, not a company like Molly Maids. We have an 888 square foot house with a finished basement that adds another 400sf or so. She used to charge about $75 including the basement, $50 without the basement.

She came every other week and usually stayed for about 3-4 hours. Her price was reasonable compared to some others we spoke with. I doubt you'll find anyone for $30 unless your house is really, really small or you don't want very much done. It can't hurt to try, but realistically, it's probably going to cost you more.

Hi T.!
Good for you! I was in a similar position 12 yrs ago and have since used a housekeeper every other week. About 7 yrs. ago, I retired to be a home stay mom, working part-time from home, but kept Linda as I don't like to clean!! I'm so glad I did! There is enough in between cleaning and housekeeping to do with my family of 5. This way my house gets a great polish, smells nice and looks neat for at least for 1 to 2 days after! Ha! Ha! With 3 boys it gets messy quick! We live in a small (less than 1100 square ft.) home and pay $70 per visit for cleaning. Linda spends about 3 to 3 1/2 hrs to get that accomplished.
I'd love to spend less , if you find that person who would do this for $30.00 please let me know!!!
Have a blessed day and enjoy your precious girl!
