chicken and eggs have a lot of Vitamin E, and try cod fish oil Vitamin A. i also do this at night, take extra virgin olive oil, and use it as night cream. it works great, and as far as ingredients go...well its a no brainer no parabens no other chemicals.

E.,

To help with the dry skin, try drinking lots of water. Things like soda and other drinks can dehydrate you. As for foods to help with the nails and stuff, try fish and nuts, peanut butter, fruits, veggies. Since I started eating like that I have notice a huge difference in my skin and hair.

Good luck.

Omega 3 & 6 Fatty Acids supplement is what I use with super results. These are usually sold as a combination of different sources of oils and labeled as Omega Fatty Acids or you can get specific ones such as Flaxseed Oil, Fish Oil, etc.

These are tremendous for your skin and hair with the added benefit of helping your mood, heart, and brain function.

Hi E.,

I agree with Amy about the Avocado, it's almost a perfect food and it will help quickly. Overall general nutrition and hydration is the key to everything you mentioned.

Hello, in helping your skin, nails and hair is of course lots of water, good nutrition and vitamins like a multiple, extra vitamin C and extra Omega 3, like Triple Strength fish oil can be found at GNC or any health food store. Omega oils will help to hydrate your scalp and skin.

For your hair talk to your stylist on what your using for shampoo and conditioner, maybe they can recommend something professional to help hydrate and maybe a trim to remove dead ends, that would help to give some strength to your hair and then use good products.

For your skin a good deep cleansing facial to exfoliate all your dead skin and then use a good exfoliant at home at least 2 times a week with good hydrating products with no alcohol. For a good deep cleansing facial you can call my skin care business, Beau Visage at Mondi Salon at
###-###-####. I have a special 10.00 off for 1hr15min
deep cleansing facial not your ordinary basic facial.
I hope this info will help you..

Hi E.,

We all look to eat the best foods out there to nourish our bodies and get the most benefit from them. I have found that the vitamins that I am taking have really made a difference in my overall health and well being. Not only do I have more energy and feel great, my nails, hair and skin have improved significantly. Friends and neighbors have even commented on how good my skin looks. I shop with an international wellness company. If you would like more information, email me anytime. With this company, you can even earn an extra income without SELLING, STOCKING or DELIVERING products.

Take care,

Hi E.

Vitamin E is supposed to be really good for your skin. Some people ingest it in foods, take additive capsules and even rub it on their skin. I know you can go to your local health food store and they will have lots of ideas for you or even google it. Gelatin is still really good for your nails. Usually the issue you're having has something to do with a lack of good nutrition and it's your body's way of letting you know.

Take care, hope you get lots of great help.

Hi Momma~

Part of the dryness may be hormonal but making sure you get half of your body weight in oz of water each day is really important. This means if you weigh 140 lbs, you need to drink 70 oz of water. I know that sounds like a lot, but remember that our bodies are made predominantly of water so it is crucial for our overall health and well being.

Another suggestion would be more EFAs in your diet. These are the essentail faty acids that our bodies need, Omega 3,6,and 9. Sources of EFAs would be avocado, fish(like salmon and halibut), walnuts, raw olive oil on your salad or steamed vegetables. You can google more food choices :)

Lastly, sometimes our hair and nails become brittle when we are not consuming enough protein. Assess your protein intake. If you don't think your eating at least 50 grams a day, you may want to increase.

Take care!

Hey E.,

I shop at an all natural online store called Melaleuca. They have WONDERFUL skin care products that leave my face baby soft. They have a lotion for extreme dry skin called Renew. I have told several people about this lotion that has Eczema and they love it! It also worked for both my children who had Eczema behind their ears, and did wonders for my babies diaper rash! Their vitamin suppliments would help your nails. I also use their hair produts and have gotten more compliments on my hair since using it. The web site is www.melaleuca.com.

If I can help you let me know,

Hi E.,

Have you talked to your Doctor? It could be that you have a Thyroid imbalance. Those symptoms, dry skin, brittle nails, dull lifeless hair.. all symptoms of low thyroid. Talk to your doctor about a TSH test to see if your Thyroid is okay.

The Vitamin E and some type of Omega oil is good too. :)

My eye doctor suggested I take flax oil to help with my dry eyes. It is also good for the skin. I take Nature's Fresh Lignan Flax Oil capsules. They do not need to be stored in the fridge which is convenient. Hope this helps.

You're on the right track thinking about foods. What you might want to consider in addition to what you want to include in your diet, is what to eliminate. Dry crunchy and salty foods will dry out your body too. It's awesome you get the correlation. So many people eat junk food and wonder why they're sick all the time. If you're eating lighter foods that are water based and chew your food very carefully you'll stay hydrated. Too much protein can dry you out too, especially animal protein. The reason simply is that your body has to work much much harder to digest the flesh than a clean and light fresh fruit or salad or other such foods, thus leaching all good stuff from resources already there. Good luck!

I used to be the exact same way. I tried everything...even thyroid stuff...didn't find my answer until i started feeding my WHOLE body better. I was already doing the vitamin thing anyway, so i started using this http://liveitdontdiet.isagenix.com/us/en/totalhealth.dhtml (Yes I sell it, yes i would receive a commission if you chose to use it but does that make it not worth looking at? you decide) and now I have great, long natural nails, and my hair looks fab!

Oh yeah and I LOST 42 POUNDS ALSO...

Hi E.,
I'm happy to help you find that miracle food. Add flax oil to your diet. Don't go for the pill form, you'll have to take the whole bottle. Buy the flax oil from a whole food market, or Nutrition Depot. make sure it is kept refrigerated once you open it. There is no limit to the amount that you can take. Flax oil is the vegetarian way to get you omega fatty acids. It has a tremendous amount of benefits but for you purposes, it will help lubricate your body from the inside. Also make sure you drink plenty of water. Try not to use products on your skin that have petroleum and stay away from anything with fragrance. I can offer a lot more but these are the basics. I have had chronic dry skin my entire life and these changes, especially the lotion, made a big difference.
I hope this helps

There are two supplements you can take and you can find them both at your local grocery store, Walgreens or health store. Vitamin E capsules and Biotin. Biotin is a B Complex vitamin that promotes healthy hair, skin, nails, and teeth. Vitamin E is just wonderful for you overall. I saw a noticable boost in my nail and hair growth and health within a month of taking the Biotin. Hope this helps!
