Hi Ladies! I'm looking for swimming lessons in the Duluth, Gwinnett County area for my 2 year old and 5 year old. I would really like to find somewhere that teaches both ages. Any suggestions? Thanks!

What can I do next?

We are not in your area but I decided to write because we have had such a great experience with the YMCA. The one we attend is in Decatur. Her teacher has been fabulous. My 3 YO is advancing fast and I am grateful and thrilled she will be safe in the water!
I hope you find a program you are satisfied with!

Swim Atlanta. They are located on Sugarloaf. The classes are small and personable. Phone number ###-###-####

have you been to the new (last year?) gwinnett aquatic center? it is on peachtree industrial blvd...it's a nice facility, and they do lessons, plus they have great pools and slides to play on while you're waiting!

We have used Swim Atlanta at Johns Creek before. They have classes for all swimmers and we have enjoyed it. I will say that coming up for spring, their classes will be full and you will need to register the day of registration. (I have heard people line up prior to the opening of registration..) They also have mini sessions for spring break. The best time to take lessons is fall through winter. Most times you will pay for a group lesson, but maybe have only one other child in the class or sometimes not even that so you are getting a private lesson for the group rate! With 6 kids per class, you child will spend quite a bit of time on the wall waiting.
Another place I have used is the Infant Swimming Resource off Buford Hwy near Downtown Duluth. I used it to teach my two year old survival swimming b/c we have a pool, but I have heard good things about their lessons for older kids. And those may be a smaller group or private. Not sure exactly but you could contact them as well if you are interested...Good Luck!

They are in Norcross. The instructor (great lady, very gentle with the children) teaches in several places. But my oldest took lessons at a pool off Peachtree Industrial (closer to Duluth/Suwanee). Check it out now, the slots fill up quickly. My daughter will be taking a refresher course this year...she turns 3 in June. And my 6 month old will be taking lessons as well.

My soon to be 3 year old can float fully clothed. Heaven forbid she ever falls into a pool she will be safe because she can float.

Good luck with your search.
