K.M.
Good Day A., I am happy to see that you have received some positive responses. When I became pregnant with my first and only child, now 2.5 year old, I searched hi and low for a doctor who would assist me with a VBAC delivery. My then OB-GYN, Dr. Riegel practices at Presby and after an unsuccessful search throughout Dallas (with the help of an awesome midwife) I returned to him to have a c-section. BELIEVE ME, I tried VERY HARD to avoid the surgery but it seemed that OB's had become very reluctant to do VBAC's because of the governing powers of the OB-GYN licensing board had no longer supported them, and they were more concerned about lawsuits. My situation is somewhat different than yours in that I had a previous surgery where the incision to my uterus to remove a tumor (in 1997, six years prior to my pregnancy mind you) was made on the back-side, which they seemed to believe would put me in the risk category of a woman who would have had a previous c-section with a horizontal incision (which is not as common) which would then have a higher chance of rupture. I was 6.5 months pregnant and declined by four or five doctors when I decided to accept that a c-section is what I would have. I pray you find what you are looking for and I would like very much to stay in touch to see how it works out for you. I would love the blessing of having another child and a still pray for the opportunity to experience labor naturally. God Bless you and your family. Peace, K.
