Many of the hospitals in the area have their own internal temp agencies, and appear to always be looking for someone for something. Its worth a shot, and some jobs can actually become permanent. Also, since we are in the height of tax season, you can always try inquiring at those type of agencies to see if they need help during the busy season. Go through the phone book for names. It would at least give you a chance to look around for something else while your working. Human resources at the local colleges in the area is another place you can inquire. I hope this gives you a couple of ideas!
