Hi, I moved here nearly 3 years ago from California and would love to try to get a group together to have some fun. I hated leaving CA. and the terrific group of friends we had there, but these days, you go where the jobs are. Since moving here, we have focused mainly on getting our kids settled and building a home. Well, now it's time for momma to find some friends. I have met some very nice women here, but all are so busy and just seem to be submerged in their own lives. I would love to meet some women who would like to get together and play Bunco, scrapbook, go to dinner or movies, whatever, just some girlfriends. I can't believe how quickly I have heard from so many ladies out there. This seems to be a great way to get in touch with people with similar interest. The one question everone seems to be asking is "what is bunco?" It's just a mindless game using dice. You have to have a group of 12, and some munchies. You sit at 3 tables of 4 and roll for certain numbers. Once that number is reached, you switch groups. Once all the numbers are reached, then you tally points to see who the winner is. I've been to some groups where the hostess has a gift for the winner, and others where everyone brings $5 and then divi (sp) it up based on the points. Hi: I went to Grad. school at Cal State and my husband taught at USC and we loved California. He's an Episcopal minister now. We also love Tennessee especially Oak Ridge because it offers a variety of activities. The schools are excellent (our class was in the top 6% of the nation's high schools academically) so college and grad school were easy. We think it is wonderful because of the peace that we find here which lets us have time to commune with God. That's the best part. We love the arts, theater, bridge, the wonderful library, and our neighbors. Of course, the theater doesn't compare with New York or London but we get there enough. We've lived in many countries and the bread makers are highly regarded - mostly unlevened breads and yes, it's in the Bible.

I'm 32 and the mother of two children (a boy, almost 3, and a girl, just turned 1). I'm a SAHM now to them both, and LOVE to meet new people that like to go do fun things! I've played Bunco before, but am not currently in a Bunco group. It's very fun though!
I LOVE going to see movies and doing things to get together with other Moms and have a break from the kiddos once in a while! ;) My hubby and I have lived in Knoxville for nearly 9 years, but I've only been a SAHM for not quite 2 years now.
