I lost some weight in the past few months went from 245 to 195, I am at my lowest weight since my 6 year old was born. But now the hanging loose skin is very hard to ignore. My biggest problem areas are belly, and breasts. I have been working out the belly and doing other resistance stuff but I am just wondering if anyone has had good luck with creams or specific excercises that they have found extreamly helpful. It is to the point where I hate to look or walk past a mirror. Any suggestions??? Besides surgery??

What can I do next?

I'm pretty sure that surgery or wearing a spanx are the only real cures for loose, hanging skin, if it's a lot of skin. It isn't a muscle or fat, which can be toned or worked away.... but there are ways to help tighten skin a bit, cardio, weights, diet and hydration are all big factors:

Sorry M., as someone that just had a full tummy tuck 4 months ago, I can tell you that there is NO CREAM that will cure hanging skin.
Only surgery. :(

Congrats on your awesome weight loss, though! If you are intent on maintaining, do consider surgery. It was the best decision I ever made!

Building up muscle can help tone and make things appear tighter. But other than this, as others have said surgery is the only solution. Certain vitamins are good for building and maintaining collegen and elastin in the skin. Go to a GNC in your area and see what they recommend. Just like pregnancy, you want to keep the skin moisturized to cut down on noticeble stretch marks. Cocoa Butter is the best, but can make you smell like chocolate cake. I think Palmer's makes a scentless version. Good news is if you're not big on knives and anesthesia, there are new non-surgical forms out there. You might want to check that out.

Try eating more lettuce and leafy foods. There is something in the composition that helps with the elasticity of the skin. I had a weight loss of over 40 pounds in about two months time and my skin was loose and when I started eating more lettuce it firmed up. If not than surgery maybe the needed requirement.

Give yourself a bit more time as your body is still adjusting to the loss and it will fill in some. If it is not what you want near the end of the year I would consider consulting your doctor about what to do.

Congrats on the weight loss.

Congrats on your weight loss. I understand that if the weight loss is gradual, loose skin shouldn't be a problem. Have you done a radical weight loss regimen? Can you possibly slow down and give your skin a chance to "catch up'?

Good luck to you and yours,
F. B.

PS- My hubs has lost over 60 lbs in 8 months after a lap band surgery. Thankfully though, he has no loose skin to contend with. I guess the weight loss has been gradual enough for his body to adjust appropriately.

I bought Veena and Neena Bidasha bellydance fitness for beginners and it helps toning my ab. Or try the Jane Fonda VCD, even though it is old production but I found it is helpful. The key is commitment. Once you are not doing it, the fat is back.
As the cream for breast firmness, in Indonesia they sell herbal products. The manufacturer brand is famous, but I don't know the effectivity of the cream. This is the website that sells the cream ( nt the manufacturer website). You can give it a try, though. They also sell the abs slimmer
herbs. http://www.midave.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=29
Also, gravity will affect your breast. Wear wired bra with strong support, also sleep on the side and put the small pillow under the breasts. Good luck :)
