Lose Last 15-20 Pounds of Baby Weight

I still have about 15 or 20 pounds to go until all of the baby weight on me is off and I'm back to my original size. Any advice on how to get it off. I've tried just about everything. Just started running again, but it's hard to do every day with the baby. I am breastfeeding and I have already lost 30 pounds (lost it in the first month after pregnancy).

Any good tips? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I found I just didn't lose the last 5-10 lbs until baby was almost 1.. When you slow down on the breastfeeding etc..It took 9 months to gain the weight it ..Keep up the running and on those days you can't run go for walk or do a weightloss DVD or yoga while baby naps...=)

If you are still breastfeeding DO NOT cut calories, but make sure the calories you eat are nutrient dense.
Basically what you need to lose that weight is time - seriously it was not until I had finished breast feeding for about three months that my body finally "let go" of that last bit of fat. Your body has to ensure you and baby have enough to live on - even though we hate it - LOL!
Start exercising (as you have) switch up with wieghts and remember it took you 9 months to put it on, it may take 9 months (or more) to tak it off.
Be patient, you can do it!!

Drink water all the time - eat lots of veggies. By the time my first child was 3 months old I had lost 90% of the baby weight and by the time she was 2 I had lost all of it - then I got PG again. My kids are now 11 and 14 and I'm still trying to get back to my pre-baby weight!!!

I just read a study that said Moms of toddlers and pre-schooler have worse eating habits, carry a few more pounds, and have worse exercise habits than women who don't have kids. Shocking!!!! They had to do a study to figure that out? Give me the money they spent on that research - I could have told them that, could have explained why too. knuckleheads! I did have a 3 year period when the kids were between 8 - 13 that I was able to maintain a decent weight - then the teen years came! Now I soothe myself with chocolate. ;o)

Good luck mama!

try a body wrap. they use all natural minerals. the wraps help to detoxify your body as well as make your skin tighter giving you a more tone look. All of the products they use are all natural, so no worries on the breast feeding. google Suddenly Slimmer and find one in your area. Their Ultra Slim Wrap can make you lose 10 to 30 inches off your body. Just an idea. :)

Honestly, you aren't going to lose that last bit of weight until you are done breastfeeding completely. Whoever made up that myth that women who breastfeed lose that pregancy weight quicker is full of complete BS. It goes against nature to assume that! Your body is going to keep fat stores around to feed the baby. Once you are done breastfeeding, then you can concentrate on losing that last bit extra weight. Until then, don't worry about it!

I am not a lean person by genetics, but I lost a ton of weight while breastfeeding. I also have friends that couldn't loose anything while they were breastfeeding so I know that it depends on the body. As you ween the baby you will need to wean yourself of all those extra calories that you are eating.

Look into the first two weeks of the South Beach Diet. It was hard, but you are still eating the right calories to breastfeed, they are just different places of getting things. (I still ate fruit- so I kinda cheated, but it still worked).

Running is good- get a good jogging stroller and take the baby with you. Remember when you are working out, if you aren't sweating or short of breath, you aren't really burning anything that will help you. Some will argue this fact but trust me- this is just a fact. You have to work your tail off to get your tail off! Don't hire a personal trainer unless they are going to get in your face and not just follow you around a gym. DO get your hubby on board so you aren't always dragging you little one with you.

I was shocked how much weight I was able to loose but it did take me until mine was 11 month and I was actually 10lbs less than before I was pregnant. Know that if you start working out too hard while breastfeeding that many women find their supply dwindles so be careful!

Feed your body with the good stuff and sweat out all the bad!!
GOOD LUCK!

I never thought I would be willing to do it, but I got desperate and joined Weight Watchers six months ago. I've lost 31 pounds so far and have about 7 or 8 pounds more to go. It's a great plan and most importantly, it works! You HAVE to track and you HAVE to go to weekly meetings - at least that's what has been working for me.

Jillian Michaels's book "Making the Cut" is awesome! But you have to absolutely stick to the 30-day plan, no cheating. It's only 30 days!!! And it really works! Includes the workouts, meal plan and recipes. Good luck!

Cut back on your caloric intake. You are breastfeeding, so you can't reduce the calories to an extreme, but you can be more aware of what kinds of foods you are eating.

Weight loss is a simple (but hard to do) formula... take in fewer calories than you "expend". You don't need to run, but you can put the baby in a (covered) stroller and go for a walk every day... actually not hard to do with a baby especially in FL. Don't snack, drink water rather than soda or juice and be conscious of "what" you are eating and "when.

My doctor had told me that it took 10 months to put the weight on, so it's going to take at least that long to take if off safely and permanently and he was correct.

I personally couldn't lose while I was breastfeeding, and I know other people who tried to lose right away, but didn't really see progress until a year or so after. It's such a short time for such a great purpose, though!

After my son, I breastfed fifteen months (he was done then). Then I started cutting out snacks (no more whole bag of goldfish :-)) Then I started cardio kickboxing, then I cut out refined flour and sugar (white stuff), and then I started keeping my calories down. I used acupuncture to help get my metabolism back in sync. (I have thyroid issues.)

I lost 45 pounds in a year and have mostly kept it off! It was worth waiting and then going slowly.
