Losing Weight After C-SECTION

I am a single mom of 3 girls (11,7,19mth)and with my last two I had to have a C-section. I was also in a car accident about 4 mth ago and hurt my neck & back, so I can't really exercise. I have gained about 35 lbs. Does anyone have any advice for me?

Go to any video store and pick up a yoga for beginners DVD. I also had some back / muscle problems when I first started activiely trying to lose wieght and doing yoga helped. I have since moved on to more strenuous exercising, but I still go back to yoga for stretching and pain management. You sound pretty busy so look for DVD that says 10 – 20 minuets on them. It has worked wonders for me and I hope it can do the same for you.

there you will find all kinds of support and they have different things for all different kinds of people...even if you were disabled they have exercises you can do at moderation.

I'm also the mom of three girls (4,8,10) and just look to them to get you through this difficult time in your life! They need you sooo much right now, and try and be strong for them. Try and look at what you have, not what you lost! There are lots of people in worse situations than you that would love to be where you are right now! As for the weight, don't eat anything after 6pm at night except for fruit, walk every day, and eat right before you take your kids out for fast food. That should work!! Good luck to you!

i know where you are coming from.Try SPARKPEOPLE.COM.Its a free website for weightloss.It has meal plans and excercise ideas.I have been doing it since Jan.and I have lost 12 pounds.There is also tons of motivation and encouragement.Hope this helps..

That is a lot of weight in 4 mo. Get your thyroid tested. Make sure they do TSH, FREE T-3, FREE t-$, antibodies. Make sure they do the "FREE", not total T3 and T4. Good luck. Don't let the Dr tell you it's stress or anxiety, I mean it could be but make sure they test your thyroid too.

I was almost in the exact same situation, only I have only 2 boys, anyway when my son was almost 2 I was the thinest I have ever been and the same with my 1st son. Now their 7 and 11 and I really miss those days.lol I guess because your chasing them so much and doing so much for them your metablism (sp?) must speed up.

I am with you on this one. Ihave chronic neck and back issues and also have 2 girls, both by c-section. Let me tell you what I did. I read about this "raw food diet" and thought it sounded pretty good but I kind of tweaked it to fit me life. For breakfast I would have one of those Dannon Light and Fit Smoothies (yogurt) and a bowl of fruit or Special K with Red Berries (it is really good) with fat free milk. For lunch I would go to a local place and get a salad with faft free dressing, sometimes with grilled chicken on it. For dinner I would make a large salad and grilled skinless chicken (the foreman grill is great for that), but I always ate the salad first that way I would not eat too much of everything else because I was already kind of full. During the day I would snack on cut up fruit and as much dry special K with red berries as I could eat. I literally went through about 3 boxes of cereal a week by myself. I also drank lots of those no sugar fruit flavored waters because I don't like plain water. Other than that, I did not change my life at all. I did not start exercising or anything. Everyone at my job thought I was nuts until I lost around 25 pounds in 3 less than 3 months. I have been able to keep it off too by just staying away from sugar and really fatty foods. Hope that gives you some help. Oh, and just in case.....wine is also considered a raw food according to the book. So have a glass or 2 in the evening, it always curbs my night time snacking.

I love the ARBONNE Weight Loss Program. It's not a lose weight quick drug. It's pure and botanical and you lose weight on at healthy rate. I started out just replacing my breakfasts and eating a regular healthy meal at lunch and supper. I would get with your dr. and discuss exercise options and until you can do that, I would keep it simple with walking, maybe even some jumping jacks, lol, or jump rope. I just read in a fitness email I get that to tone your legs, you can sit in your chair, hold one leg out in front of you, point your toes and do the alphabet. Do as many letters as you can and switch legs. As your muscles get more toned, the more letters you'll find yourself able to do. But definitely talk to your dr., s/he will be able to tell you what you can do with out further aggrivating your neck and back, and probably even things you can do to strengthen them again.

Hi L., Congratulations on your 3 girls. What a blessing! They will be your best friends for life. You are so lucky!!! Eating healthy is extremelly important especially when taking care of the baby. You need healthy food to have the energry and to feel healthy. Learning about eating habits and eating healthy will benefit your and your girls for a long run. I had a C-section five weeks ago and I was able to almost loose all my weight. If you can, just take few items out of your diet and substitute with heatlhier approach, you will loose weight naturally. Just by switching from coffee to green tea you will loose 10lbs within two months. Here what worked for me; No fast food at all. No bread, only whole wheat and never at night. No rice, unless is brown rice never for dinner for lunch only. No pasta, unless is whole wheat and never for dinner. Snack on almonds, walnuts and cheese, they supress your appetite. Have big breakfast, and lunch and snack throught the day. Have fish or meat with vegetables for dinner. Try not to eat after 8pm. Try to read South Beach Diet book to educate yourself what foods are good and which are your worst enemy. Lots of Luck! I like to hear about your progress. I would recommend the South Beach diet ... it isn't a quick fix but it teaches you how to eat better and yes you will lose weight even without the excercise ... they have a great online program to help you get started, or simply buy the book and you are on your way!
