there is this lotion at bath and body with shea butter, it costs 20 dollars but is worth it and it lasts a long time, it is called LE COUVENT repairing hand cream
What's the best hand cream/lotion?
Of course I didn't try everything (I got 51 responses!) but I really like the Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Lotion for my hands - it was just what I was looking for. Thank you all!

My pediatrician told me i could use Eucerin Cream (not lotion) for my daughter when she was a newborn, and i use it all the time too it is the best at keeping my skin from getting dry throughout the day.
I really like Aveeno. My pediatrician had me use it on my daughter a few years ago as an infant, and we have been using it for the entire household ever since. Use the regular one (green writing) instead of baby Aveeno. Baby costs more and the other works just as well.

Have you heard of Melaleuca? My kids and I are currently using their lotion, called Renew Intensive Skin Therapy. It's a clinically proven moisturizing lotion that delivers long-lasting relief from dry, rough, or irritated skin, and even uncomfortable chronic skin conditions. It also leaves skin softer and healthier. One of the main ingredients is T3-C5 brand Melaleuca Oil.
If you're interested in ordering, let me know. These are not sold in stores.

The best one to use that works great is the Suave Advance Therapy. It goes on smooth without being to watery or to thick and lasts 24 hours. I have extremely dry and sensitive skin and let me tell you it worked the first time I used it. I think you'll love it. I bought 2 large pump containers for $6.00 at Target. It's a great buy with a great price. Let me know if you try it and how it works for you.
If you have itchy skin - nutragena is great - but so is Eucera (I just found that.) It's expensive but well worth the price.
HI A.-
If you're concerned about toxins, carcinogens & parabens in lotions & hand cream, then you want to make sure that whatever product you choose is certified organic. All of those products that claim they are "natural" & "non-toxic" & even the "organic" ones still have carcinogens & parabens in them. The cosmetic industry's labeling/definitions allow petrochemicals to still be in "natural" & "organic" & "non-toxic" products. Your skin is the largest organ of your body & it is covered in pores that absorb whatever you put on it...lotion, soap, sunscreen, etc.
I found a line called Miessence & it is the only company that uses certified organic ingredients that are cold-pressed & cold-extracted so the ingredient maintains it's original nutrients. All of the ingredients are certified organic to food grade levels. All of the products have the highest percentage of certified organic ingredients out there.
Make sure to read the labels of whatever products you are interested in. If there is sodium lauryl sulfates, disodium EDTA or any EDTA/ETA/DTA, propylene glycol, parabens or anything ending in "eth", then there is a probable or possible carcinogenic or skin irritant in the product.
Check out my website at www.AWelLLivedLife.Net & click on the Miessence link to learn more about this wonderful line of certified organic products.
Hope that helps!
Curel...the cost is above average but it's worth it.
As per my dermatologist, and my husband and I both use it,
Cetaphil, its not greasy and does work.
Good luck,
C.
Aloha A.,
I've been using this one for years and loving it. It comes in handy for me also when I'm traveling. For some reason when I travel my skin gets so dry (I guess I'm "spoiled" by living in Hawaii).
Enfuselle® Hand & Body Lotion (Nourish your skin with this lightweight, non-greasy yet intensely moisturizing lotion. Clinically proven to provide an instant moisture surge and continued release for up to six hours. Patented Vital-Repair+® helps reverse UV-induced signs of aging, while pro-vitamin B5 strengthens nails. Added bonus: a botanical prebiotic that creates a healthy environment on the skin to strengthen its natural protective system.)

Have a great day,
Marie-anne :O)
My husband & his daughter suffer from excema so I buy a lot of different lotion/creams. His favorite is the eucalyptus spearment lotion from Bath & Body Works. He also loves the oatmal Lubriderm. Good luck and God Bless You :]
JASON Aloe Vera 84% (70% organic), can get at Long's Drugstore or Whole Foods.
Personally I love Vasaline's Hand and Nail lotion. It not only moisturizes your hands, but strengthens your fingernails as well.
Have a Great Weekend!
For you, the best hand cream I have found is Crab Tree and Evelyn's Hand Therapy. My friend who is a bar tender recommended it to me. it is a little expensive, but you will be addicted once you try it!
kiehl's ultimate hand salve is the BEST! you can get it at nordstroms. it's a little more expensive than the "store" brand stuff, but i LOVE it. try a small size to see if you like it... i think the small size is $11 and the large is $19.
I am a huge fan of the LaOccitane Ultra Rich Body Cream, it is made with shea butter!! I love it is the original scent because it smells clean and not perfumy!! Give it a go, I can't do without it!!
I really like the Gold bond Ultimate Healing lotion. My grandma loves it too, she actually was the one who turned me on to it. It doesn't feel greasy at all and it lasts for quite a while. I even got my husband turned on to it and he never used to use lotion but this stuff just makes your skin feel so soft!
Is it for you or a baby or children I like all the Aveno products for the kids and me!
Neutrogena Norwegian Hand Formula-it is the thickest, most sticky lotion you can imagine, but if your hands are really dry nothing works better. You can get it at any drug store.
If you want something lighter I love the Thymes hand cremes you can buy at higher end beauty supply shops. They make them in different scents and they are wonderful.
Crabtree and Evelyn makes a great Hand Recovery lotion and so does Arbonne. Hope this helps!
If you are looking for recommendations for the best hand lotion for yourself I would HIGHLY recommend CO Bigelow's Body Lotion from Bath & Body Works. (No, I do not work for BBW I just like many of their products and LOVE their return policy). The exact name of the product is CO Bigelow Derma Remedy Intense Dry Skin Therapy Body Lotion. I found that if I use it every night before I go to bed my hands feel AWESOME after only 4 continuous nights. I leave my tube right on my nightstand so I remember. My hands were SO bad the knuckles were cracked and raw. At the very least, if this product does not appeal to you the store has a great return policy. It's $18 a tube approximately but a little goes a LONG way. I've tried so many lotions I wish I had seen your question sooner as I just threw away about 4 different products that didn't work!! LOL! Good luck!!!
Try Ahava - available at upscale department stores or anything from San Diego Natural Soap Co (www.SanDiegoSoap.com). They have wonderful, natural, organic products!

Without a doubt, Aveeno or its generic equivalents. The oatmeal part seems to be very soothing. Get the regular version not the "cooling" one, as I found that irritating. I use it for my hands and feet (I am a diabetic) and just about anywhere else and it is soothing and not irritating.
"Udder Cream." You can get it at www.amazon.com
Here's the link:

Great stuff, for any part of the body. Yes, it was originally used for dairy cows, so I've read, and their udders were always in good condition. :)
I've used it and like it. Good for feet as well.

I like Aveda's hand relief, it's expensive tho. Aquaphor is good to use with the gloves you sleep with (on your hands) because it is greasy. Plain old vasaline works good too-- with gloves. I have really badly chapped, splitting skin on my hands. I have tried so much, nothing really seems to stop it entirely.
Arbonne hand cream is fantastic!!! I keep it in my purse but after using it for 2 days you don't have to keep putting it on. I usually apply in the pm before bed and my hands are fine the following day. Please contact me if you need more info or a sample. Look forward to hearing from you.

The best I've found is Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Moisture Cream. One of my twin toddlers has very sensitive skin. He gets dry patches on his face and body, and has excema. This cream gets rid of the dryness overnight! Also, I keep some in my purse because it's the best hand lotion I've found! I recommend it to all my friends.
curell in the blue bottle
For myself, I like Kiehl's Unusually Rich But Not Greasy At All Hand Cream (Yes, that is the name of it and it's true.) You can get it at Nordstroms, but I'm sure its also available at places like Sephora or Drugstore.com. Kiehl's is a well-known brand. I also am a big fan of Aveeno products. I use their face moisturizers, body wash, and all the baby bath products. While my son is young, I use their fragrance-free body moisturizer for babies for both my son and myself.
I love Eucerin because it's priced low, unscented, mild, and works really well on a lot of different types of skin. I have very dry skin and this has always worked really well for me! La Mer also makes absolutely amazing products, but of course it's expensive...
MINE!!! At least I think so! I'm with Mary Kay, and I love our hand cream. If you would like to sample some, let me know!
The best and safest lotion to put on yourself and your babies is made without mineral oil, propylene glycol, polytheythelene glycol, cocoamide DEA, TEA, urea. I have been using the safe products from Neways for over 10 years. Safe baby products called Generations, hair, body wash, lotion

That's easy....I only use Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream. I have tried tons of other brands but keep coming back to it. It is very thick and moisturizing and keeps hands hydrated better than anything else I have tried.
Renew from Melaleuca...you'll NEVER use anything else!
Also, my daughter loves it!
My husband loves it because it doesnt have a strong odor

I have had good results from using Gold Bonds, I have used every "expensive" and "organic" lotion around, but so far the best I have used for my and my 3 yeard old daughters hand and body is plain Gold Bonds:)
I use Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream. I'm really big about my hands looking young, (there long and skinny), so I've tried alot of creams out there. This one won me over because it will last after washing my hands. I've used Mary Kay, Freeman, Avon... the list goes on... But for ME, Aveeno is the best.
This hand cream is a must try! It's called Enfuselle Ultra moisturizing Shea Butter Cream from Shaklee. I love it. It soaks in, doesn't leave you feeling greasy and has vitamin E and smells great.
Yes i sell it but am a user too. I wouldn't tell you about it if I didn't like it.
Besides, you get 30% off your order seeing your a mamasource mom. Yeah!!!
Try it, if you like it great if not, no biggy either.
Shaklee is a GREEN company, and when I say toxin-free, mean it. Shaklee has been around for 50 years and are known for there quality control on all products. No worries.
We also carry a regular hand and body lotion to. Hypoallergenic, and patented vital-repair+ complex that protects against prematurely older-looking skin.
Take care

AVEENO!!!!!!! They even make it special for babies. I use the regular "Daily Moisturizing" kind all over my body and it works great! I love it! I work in a bakery so I'm washing my hands all day and they get very dried out. Aveeno restores them immediately!
i have tried everything. most leave a residue that i am unhappy with. the best i have found is "renew" lotion by melaleuca. it's good for you and it soaks in and doesn't have a residue. it's great for sensitive skin & eczema too. check it out at www.melaleuca.com
it is great to use on yourself or your baby- the whole family, on your body and face.
also a really good baby line that is great too is the abc line from arbonne. www.arbonne.com
these companies both have great products that everything is good for you.
Hi A. -
The best lotion I've found is by ALBA. Get the original unscented version. It's perfect for sensitive skin, is very high-quality and you can get big bottles of it at Whole Foods Market (that's where I get it). We've tried so many different brands. This is the best one we've found.
Good luck! - L.
I really like Gold Bond lotion. Not overpriced and works really well on the hands and cuticles.
Mary Kay hand cream
visit my website www.marykay.com/sjmartinez
I wash my hands A LOT, therefore I go through tons of hand cream. I just discovered Avon Skin So Soft Age-Defying Hand Cream, It's fantastic! I'm not just saying this because I sell Avon, i really do love it. Plus, you can't beat the price ($4).
Or, I can mail you a brochure If you prefer. Good Luck!
I love Weleda products and JASON products.
Even though it is a little more expensive than the everyday stuff, I use Arbonne products. Check it out at arbonne.com... I'm a concultant so I can buy it for myself at the reduced price.

Hi A.! Wow who would have thought that a six word question would bring you so many responces! LOL Anyway Im not sure if you are looking for you or baby but either way hear is what I think. if you are concerned about product ingredients I would stay away from most of the regular over the counter products. many are loaded with animal by products, chemical fragrances that cause iratation or mineral oil which clogs the pores. Chose something botanical or organic. You had a lot of offers for free samples so maybe try a few and see what works best for you. I also am an independant consultant for Arbonne and I love the skin conditioning oil as well as the baby lotion and oil. Because its botanical the oils absorb quickly and you dont feel greasy. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Good luck in your search..
