Yes, most always, they get fevers when new teeth are coming in. It sounds like they are doing the right thing, just follow up with the doctor. At this time of year, there could be several things wrong at once. He could have had a cold. He could have allergies. He probably had an infection, which may or may not have gone away without the antibiotic. It definitely sounds like the fever is from his teeth, the way it comes and goes. Just keep an eye on him. If his nose is clearing up, the infection is probably gone. Sometimes when a child gets a cold, or has sinus trouble, they can get infections. You can usually tell if it is an infection versus a regular stuffy nose by the smell of it. Infections are smelly.
