Luteal Phase... HELP!

My ectopic pregnancy was terminated by emergency surgery on May 12th that left me with only my right fallopian tube. Six days after surgery I had a very heavy bleeding that lasted 5 days (a normal menstrual cycle for me). I chart my cervical fluid and positioning so I know that I normally ovulated around the 16 day after our daughter was born. Because of the surgery I ovulated late this month but I know my two most fertile days because of charting cervical fluid, cervical positioning, and I even used an ovulate kit to be sure since things may have been a bit off after surgery. Because my husband and I are wanting another baby since losing this baby we were sure to have intercourse these two most fertile days. However, 4/5 days after ovulation I started bleeding. My husband and I had intercourse late that night and immediately afterward I started bleeding an orangey red blood. The next morning I started bleeding like I do during my normal menstrual cycles. It is not implantation bleeding because it is too heavy for that (I bleed moderately for the first two days of each cycle then it sort of tapers off to a light bleeding the remainder three days). The Luteal Phase (the time period AFTER ovulation and before menstruation) is between 12-16 days (some sources say it is between 10-14 days). I have always been right on with the 12 day mark so I am really worried about this bleeding 4/5 days after ovulation especially since this is what happened when I got pregnant with my ectopic pregnancy. I can't see the doctor until Friday. Does anyone have any information that can help me?

The doc said we could start having intercourse 1 week after my surgery and could try again immediately.

At my follow up appointment on June 3rd my HCG levels were 0.

What can I do next?

Did your HCG even have a chance to get back to 0? I had my ectopic removed by surgery in March and my numbers weren't even back to 0 until the end of April, I had to have a blood test once a week until they were under 5. I just started a normal cycle last month. Is your doctor following your numbers back to 0 with regular blood tests? I would think your body is still thinking it is pregnant, or your numbers just went down, and your body is trying to get back to normal.

Should you even be having intercourse yet? or trying to become pregnant? I hope you are ok and not rushing this.

I'm sorry for your loss. I wouldn't worry though- just give your body time to adjust. Of course, talk to your Dr, but realize that your body is doing it's own thing right now. Even if you were always regular it may change after your ectopic. After my last miscarriage & subsequent DNC my body did't get back to normal until the actual 9 months I would have been pregnant. I had random periods & mood swings for 4 or 5 months. Things will get back in sync, but in the meantime I would relax & focus on your emotional health. Give yourself a break from all the ovulation tracking for a month or so & enjoy time with your husband & daughter. I know it's hard to wait-- we all want everything on OUR schedule, but sometimes we have to let go for things to happen on the schedule that is best.
Good luck!!!

What?? I was not allowed to have intercourse for 4 weeks after my ectopic!
I think that you should give your body a chance to heal for a bit. Your cycles will most likely be off for a while. Mine were WAY off after our ectopic and I finally got pregnant exactly one year later. It killed us to wait that long, but I could NOT be more blessed than to be raising my Aubrey Anne! :) If you do have to wait, he or she will be sooooo worth it! I'm sorry for your loss. I know how much it hurts.

If its that soon after your ectopic your body may very well believe it's still pregnant which could make your hormones act weird, and that could cause bleeding. I would wait to talk to your obgyn. Good Luck
