Making Last Pregnancy Special

I recently found out that I'm pregnant with our third child! My husband and I wanted to have a third baby but were planning to wait another year. Needless to say, this was a big surprise!! I love being pregnant and as happy as I am about having another baby, part of me is sad that it's my last and I didn't have time to prepare emotionally. My husband suggested that we really make this pregnancy very special and celebrate it as much as possible. I'm not quite sure how to do that though. We are going to take lots of pictures and I'm keeping a pregnancy journal, which I did with my other two. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas or could share what you've done. My oldest is almost 3 1/2 so when I'm farther along and we tell him about the new baby I think he will be excited!

Looking forward to hearing your replies!

I just recently had my last pregnancy, we went and professional pregnancy photos taken with our son and the new baby belly. Maybe think about doing a pregnancy casting also. But most of all enjoy ever single minute of it. It goes by so fast.

I agree with having pro shots done if you can afford it. Also doing a belly cast and having the other 2 kids put their hand prints in the shape of a heart over the belly button would be a cute add on.

Get a huge sheet of art paper tape it to a wall, place a lamp on a table, go and stand between the lamplight and the paper, remember to mark the floor where you are standing in the same place everytime, stand sideways, have hubby trace the shadow of your body as it grows. You can write comments, dates, and other little things on the paper as you go along. This is something that can be framed and put up in baby's room.

I heard of someone taking that 3D image of baby and having a sculpture made from that but I don't know the details. This would be better than bronzed booties.

Take a Hypnobirthing class together - this is an awesome way to focus on you and your birth. You will learn how have a natural birth in a stress free environment as well as how to medidate. I have two children and took the class both times. I had two wonderful births and my husband felt involved and part of it. To find one in your area go to www.hypnobirthing.com you won't regret it! Good luck!

With my third pregnancy we did a 3D ultrasound. I didn't do that with my other kids, it is so neat!
I'm not very creative when it comes to this kind of stuff so I can't wait to read your other responses. We thought our third would be the last but my husband talked me into having another one (not pregnant yet by the way) :)

Just last week, a friend of mine who is also pregnant painted my belly. She'd had it done to her a few weeks prior (this is her first pregnancy and my second). When she posted pics of it on Facebook, I mentioned that I had wanted to do something similar with my first, but never did. She and I live on opposite sides of the country, and she and her husband were able to come visit us for the week, so we could see each other before our babies are born. One morning, she asked if we had any costume shops in the area. We went to one, she bought some liquid face paints, and later that afternoon, with brushes and paint, she painted a huge, beautiful red, orange, and yellow flower with the center right over my belly button and green leaves and vines coming off the petals. She even had some gold glitter face paint that she added for a sparkly effect. We took pictures during the progress and then, lots of pictures after she was done, including a few of me near the wildflowers in our backyard and a few of both of us and our bellies together. It was a lot of fun, and although the paint didn't last for more than an hour or two (it dried and started flaking), the memories will be lasting!

Maybe the older two children could write a letter or draw a pic for the baby at periods throughtout your pregnancy and you could put them in a scrap book for the baby to enjoy when he/she is older. Congratulations!!
