Malls with Toddler Play Areas?

Hi all,

I just moved to New Tampa with my 2-year-old daughter, and am wondering if any of the nearby malls have a play area for her. I am also looking for thrift shops that have children's clothes and toys.

Thanks so much!

L.

Hi L.,

Ditto on Citrus Park and International Plaza. Also try Kidz Club on Amberly (in the shopping plaza where Lifestyles is) - one of those indoor play areas. They have open play, playgroups, music classes, etc. VERY clean and well-maintained. Prices are reasonable too. Great when the weather is too hot, rainy, etc. to be at the playgrounds outside and a good alternative to the malls where I tend to spend way too much money.

Hi, just so you know, the FL Hwy Patrol offers a carseat class that for only $10, you not only get the carseat of your choice (infant, convertable, or booster) you learn VERY valuable and life saving information on how to install your carseat and keep your child safe in it. The officer that does this is Reggie Edwards ###-###-#### Good Luck to you.
Please pass this info onto anyone and everyone you know!!

as far as malls with Play Areas I go to either Citrus or Westshore mall because they seem to have nicer play areas.

Dear L.,
There are several malls in the area that have play areas. Citrus Park Mall has two. Westshore has one. International has quite a large one. Also in Pinellas county, Countryside Mall (Clearwater)and Tyrone Square Mall (St. Petersburg) both have a good play area. University Mall does not have a play area(the last time I checked.) For a kid's clothes I use Little Lambs Consignment in Lutz. Welcome and good luck. K.

international, the mall closest to the air port, has a really nice play area for kids.. westshore mall has one too.. university mall (off of fowler going toward USF) is OK, but they don't really have much of a play area for little kids :)

My son loves the play center in Brandon town center. It is also a great place to chat with other Moms. It is located by the Sears entrance right in from of Bath & Body works and Payless shoes. As for the consignment shop, we like Once upon a child on Lumsden in Brandon. They seem to be pretty choosy about what they accept so it is easy to find used toys and clothes that aren't all ragged and beat up. Most of the toys that I have gotten there look brand new and a lot of the clothes (especially for little babies) still have the tags on them from their retail originators. Good Luck and welcom to the Tampa Bay area!

Hi L. - I have a soon to be 2 yr old little girl too - in August. Like the other posts say, Citrus Park Mall and International Mall have play areas for the kids. All the malls are a good drive to get to but worth it - University Mall isn't that great of an area and I don't think it has a play area there anyway. As far as thrift stores go, Little Lamb as mentioned before is out a ways down Land O Lakes Blvd, there is one on 56th street, between Busch blvd and Folwer called Comfy Kids. Another place is called All About Kids - out by Little Lambs. I have gotten nice things from all of them but Little Lambs is my favorite.

Hope this helps - A.
