Alright ladies...and gents.. I currently have a sitter that my daughter has been going to for quite a while now..but I have switched jobs and the sitter has become.. well.. a little cranky. I need some help! I am currenly a single mommy that's trying to go to school and work full time. I don't make a lot of money..so I need a cheap sitter.. preferably less than $500 a month.. because IT'S KILLIN' me.. that is more than my rent. I work off of Portland and Memorial in N. OKC/S. Edmond area. I need somewhere close.. PLEASE HELP ME! I know you ladies are fantabulous and have helped me before.. matter of fact that is how I found my last sitter. Thanks girls!

What can I do next?

I found a wonderful babysitter through the Edmond Home Child Care Association. Just call ###-###-#### and they will let you know who has openings and then you can schedule a visit. Usually the providers who are involved in this association are pretty good, since they get continuing education and are willing to be out in the community of day care providers.

First Nazarene Church on Boulevard in Edmond does a nice job with day care and Camelot Child Development Center on Santa Fe, just north of Memorial is great too, especially for the little ones.

As far as the cost goes, it is hard to find a good, cheap sitter. For a one-year-old, the average rate is about $135 a week. I know that is more than you want to spend, and you might be able to work it out to pay less for a great daycare situation, but this is not the place to skimp. If you have to take out a student loan to make ends meet, do it. Your baby is so worth it and it is worth it to you not to worry about her.

Good luck!

Hi J.

My name is T., I have a lic. home child care in Bethany. I have a feeling I am out of the way, but I wanted to let you know I'm here and I do have an opening for a one year old. I would just need to know what days and hours you need. I am open M-F 7:30 am -5:30/6 pm. I know I can come in under $500 a month if that helps any. You are more then welcome to contact me through mamasource or e-mail at ____@____.com with any questions and/or if you would like to set up a time to meet.

Good luck with your day care search, if I can help you please let me know. I'm just curious, why did your current sitter get cranky with or when you changed jobs, if you don't mind me asking?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks

T.
