AVOID USA Martial Arts; not month to month, and they pull you in with a deal and then it's switch & bait.
Does anyone know of a Martial Arts studio that offers a month to month membership in the Plano/Richardson area? Our contract is up at the place my son currently attends and I would like to find somewhere that does not operate on a contractual basis. My three year old would also like to take, so it would be ideal if they could take at the same place.
Any suggestions on places to try (or avoid?)
Thanks ladies!

Ashley,
North Dallas Martial Arts is a great place. They do month to month. Its at the intersection of Arapaho and Jupiter. The info is below along with their website. Good luck! -A.

My daughter (now 13) studied with John Bain. Plano Self Defense. Check out the website. He stresses self defense and teaches them a lot. He even included report cards, etc with his direction to make sure children we on track. I can't speak highly enough about him. www.planoselfdefense.com
One thing for sure is that he does NOT run a "belt factory". Even if you don't choose him, review his site for some great info on choosing the school right for you.
My daughter has had her black belt since June 06 and has used it. Martial Arts is a lot more than "fighting" and competitions.
Good luck.
Plano Rec Center offers Martial Arts classes. I think Infinate Bounds Gymnastics on Spring Creek and Independence offers month to month. I haven't been there, but looked into it when my daughter wanted to take Martial Arts.
Try the Plano Recreations department. They offer courses in Martial Arts periodically. This way you would not have invest a lot of time/money should your children get bored or not want to do Martial Arts any longer.
Good luck.
