I know your daughter has probably already finished taking her TAKS test but if you are interested in regular tutoring next year, my fee is $20/hour in my home. I think that's pretty reasonable, if you check around. I tutored a 5th grade student this year from a mom who found me on Mamasource, so I can give you her name for a referral if you're interested. I am a certified Math teacher, grades 7-12 and have 5 years teaching experience. I have also worked at Sylvan Learning Centers and done private tutoring for years. I live in S. give your local library a call. in bedford they offer free turoring regularly at the library. you have to register, but there is no cost involved.

I was in your same boat. I just hired a young lady, but since we are starting next week I'm not sure whether to tell you she is good or not. But after speaking with her myself, I think she is going to be just what we need. But I'll be glad to give your name and number to her and you guys can talk. She is a college student who just graduated Baylor and will get her masters at A&M, she is home for the summer. She is the daughter of good friends of mine and very responsible. I've know her for many years. She lives in Fannin Farms - so she's in the vicinity you are looking for. Her rate is more than reasonable - but I'll let her discuss that with you. She's coming to my home once a week for now and we may beef it up before school starts. She has very limited time, because she is also working in an office for the summer. All I can say, she's worth a conversation. I would not have hired her if I didn't think she could do the job.

My husband has a Bachelor Degree from DBU and awhile back also received his Generalist Certificate for teaching 4th - 8th grade in any subject. He is looking for tutoring jobs and other work right now. He also has his nuclear engineering technology associate's degree. This is a math heavy curriculum even for an associate's degree. We use Porter Tutoring, on Park Row in Pantego/Arlington. It's across the street from Pantego Christian Academy. It's a great atmosphere and both of my kids (11 & 14) really enjoy it and have benefited from the help. Good luck!
