Me and my daughter and son all have plantar warts. ugh. so Ive had warts on the soles my feet for the past year and i tried to treat them at first but i gave up after they came back a couple times. About 6 months ago i noticed at wart on the sole of my sons foot. He then showed me another wart the bottom on his toe. And last month i saw my daughter was looking at the bottom of her foot and she asked me to look and she has a wart too! I am now getting serious about getting rid of warts. What have you ladies done to get rid of warts on your feet?

What can I do next?

Go to the dermatologist. They are caused by a virus, and are contagious as you have found out. The doctor can freeze them and/or give you a prescription strength solution to put on them. In my experience, the over-the-counter stuff does not work.

They need to be frozen off.
They are a virus.
They CAN be contagious. They are spread in moist, warm environments (showers).

Make sure your showers are CLEAN.
Wear house slippers.

When they are that contagious - you take the whole family to the doctor for treatment until you are all cured.

Contact your dr. We tried to freeze my son's warts with over the counter stuff and it did not work for him. Not saying it wont work for anyone. We took him to his dr. she froze them but they didn't all go away the first time. We took him to a dermatologist for something else and they froze the ones left off but it took several times. If its a bad one it may take several treatments. But they are very contagious. That's why all of you have them.

My son had a couple on his feet but we were able to get rid of them by using the wart removal freeze stuff. My daughter recently had one on her finger. The freeze did not work but the bandages did. Unfortunately it really caused it to dry out the area around it too. But all gone.

They're very contagious so I'm not surprised that your kids now have them. You can either all go to a doctor and have them frozen off (the quickest and most effective method). Or you can buy an OTC gel to put on the warts.

Until everyone is completely clear, you need to avoid having bare feet touching the floor. Socks, slippers, and shower shoes will help cut down on the spread of them.

You don't mention how old your kids are, but schools routinely exam the feet of kids who are old enough to use the locker rooms. Don't be surprised if you get a call from the school.

One of my grandsons gets them on and off all the time. They use the duct tape method to get rid of them. Easy to do and works well.

The main thing is to make sure there are no bare feet which means flip flops in the shower and socks or slippers on everyone in the house.

The shower is where these tend to get passed around so first of all the warts all need to be covered and the tub bleached. They have flexible first aid tape that can help keep them covered comfortably because if you don't wrap the tape all the way around your foot it tends to fall off. When treating the wart a combination of freezing, liquid treatment (topical meds) and scraping seems to work best. You must get off as much of the top crust as you can before each treatment. Once it looks like the hole is clear of wart KEEP TREATING for just a bit longer or the hole can just fill in with a now bigger wart and you have to start all over. Treatment takes a while to get it all, so this won't be an overnight thing. Best of luck!

I had one on my knee in junior high and my mom took me to the doctor who froze it. The results were immediate. I got another one on top of my toe in high school. I used a drug store medicated bandage. It took a long time, but eventually got rid of it.

You have to get them frozen off. It's very painful. The doctor needs to do it, wait about 30 seconds and then do it again. That's an important part of the process. Sparing you pain by not continuing to freeze it just keeps you having to go back multiple times to get them frozen. And no, it doesn't work the first time, but suck it up and accept the pain each time so you get through this faster.

You and your family members need to be wearing flip flops in the shower and NOT walking around barefoot until all the warts are gone. It's a virus you have given to each other. If you and your kids go to a gym or pool, it's really very important. You can also catch foot fungus in these places. And that's harder to get rid of than warts.

My kids had the same issue with warts because of swim team. I had a plantars wart too. So painful, but I just had to go through the pain of getting it frozen until it was gone. These warts dig deep, and the longer you wait to address it, the deeper they will go.

They sell a liquid that you apply to warts that shrinks them until they fall off. I have even seen it at the dollar store. I had a wart on my thigh, and I just had my dermatologist freeze it. It then swelled up like a blister, crusted over, and fell off. Obviously, the liquid is a cheaper alternative, and probably less painful.

Planter warts are difficult to remove because they're caused by a virus. I suggest you ask your doctor what to do. I've had plantar warts frozen off by a doctor several times. OTC remedies didn't work.I still have what looks like planter warts that are actually scars.
