Does anyone have an exceptionally good recipe for meatballs served as an appetizer? I want something other than an italian meatball or one with a red italian sauce.

So What Happened?

Thank you all so much! I'm going to go with the grape jelly one and do it in my crockpot. It's for my son's 1st birthday party so I think that one will go over the best with kids....And it sounds delicious!

If you want to make a variation of the other grape jelly recipe that has more meatballs and more sauce and doesn't have to be monitered use this one.
3 jars of Heinz Chilli Sauce
1/2 bottle of bbq sauce (of your liking)
1/2 jar of grape jelly
1 bag of frozen meatballs
Put it all in a crock pot till warm (on high usually takes about 2 hours unless you defrost the meatballs overnight the night before than its about an hour)

I pour Thai Sweet Chili Sauce over meatballs. Adults love it. It might be a little spicy for small kids. You can get the sauce at Wal-Mart.

The grape jelly one is good, I've had it before.

You can also do frozen meatballs and salsa in a crock pot on low for a few hours too. That's how I do mine.

Good luck!!

I have a very easy but good family recipe that's been used for years...

One jar of grape jelly and one jar of Heinz Chili Sauce... mix the two in a small pan on med-low, once the jelly has melted in with the chili sauce pour over the meatballs... I like to put them in a crock pot and let them simmer for at least 30 min- hour, just to get the flavor in, you can actually do it longer...

they are really good, sweet with a little tang...

Go with Melanie's recipe. I've had that many times, and have even taken it to a recipe club where it was the hit of the party.

I love to cook and try new things. I've found the the food network www.foodnetwork.com and www.allrecipes.com have great ideas that work for me.

I too like to make something a little different. Stroganoff meatballs are tasty!

I tend to find 1-2 recipes I think I'll like and then add my touch/taste to the recipe.

There are lots of party and appetizer ideas on these sites. Also...most of the recipes have reviews from REAL people who have tried the recipes.

Good luck!!
