Hello. I am expecting my second child in 3 weeks and am looking to replace my breast pump parts. I have found everything except the tubing. I don't even see replacement tubing on Medela's website. Does anyone know where I can buy new tubing? Or do I even need new tubing? Thanks!

What can I do next?

When I was in the hospital they gave me a new set of tubing and other pump parts, but I had to pump right away since the baby went to the NICU. When I had the second baby I didn't worry about the pump parts being new for each child as long as I got them new in the first place. I just washed them well and used the microwave sterilizer bag to sterilize them (you can get the bags at most baby stores).

Check with your hospital. I know I got replacement parts for my pump, through my hospital.

You probably don't need new tubing, especially if you occasionally cleaned it with your first child. To be honest, if you cannot find it, you can replace it with air line tubing from a pet store. They use it a lot in fish tanks on the air pump- same stuff. So check there. I'm sure it's a whole lot cheaper!

I just went through this today. I found a post on my SAHM site about Medela replacing the tubing for their pumps for free. I called their 1-800 number today and they just need the number that starts with a V located on your pump near where the tubing fits to get you the tubing. They will send you one replacement set free and you can order an additional two sets for ten dollars. I just went with one since I used the tubing for a year with my son and didn't ever need another set. I'm only replacing it now to loan the pump to my not yet SIL who's about to have a baby. I think new tubing is a good idea (hey it's free anyway) for sanitary purposes and just to ensure the best suction and fit.

Congrats on the second baby. Hope all goes well.

Even with the closed system, replacing the tubing can ensure that you are getting the best and most consistent pressure. I googled "medela tubing" and came up with a number of options (like amazon) that had tubing available.

My local hospital has a lactation store that sells tubing. Consider contacting a hospital or a lactation consultant. If the hospital cannot help you, hopefully a local lactation consultant can point you in the right direction.

Ameda breast pump company was bought out by Evenflo a couple of years ago and since Medela isn't available direct, it may be the same situation....wouldn't hurt to give them a call and ask....they couldn't give my replacement parts but gave me an extremely discounted deal on a new pump (their name of course) but it served the purpose, had a warranty and I can get new parts if needed....which I did in order to give it to my daughter 2 years later, lol! Yes, my one year old is an uncle! If I come up with more concrete info, I'll update this....headed to bed now though! Best wishes for a wonderful weekend! M.

I did a google search for Medela tubing and found a retailer online. I think I used www.mybreastpump.com, but I'm not 100% sure. Good luck!

I ordered tubing for my medela breast pump twice from breastfeed-essentials.com. (go under replacement parts and scroll down) I was was very happy with them. The tubing costs 10 plus 7 dollars shipping. It arrived in just a few days. Good luck!
